That looks like a pretty good haul for the Athletics.Very good defensive catcher, decent outfielder with a lot of potential and a couple of young starters. Kusick looks like a monster -- 6'6", 235. over 18Ks per 9 innings in his debut. Estes has potential also. Pache is still a very respected prospect.
Kuhl story, broNick Groke of The Athletic reports that the Rockies have signed free agent right-hander Chad Kuhl to a major league contract.
Mark Feinsand of MLB.com adds that Kuhl will receive a $3 million salary plus performance bonuses. He'll likely open the 2022 season in the Rockies' starting rotation. The 29-year-old righty holds a respectable 4.44 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 395/195 K/BB ratio across 439 2/3 innings (100 appearances, 84 starts) since 2016.
Just saw that Ken Griffey Jr is their sixth highest paid player this season.Reds are a joke.

I'm thinking Dodgers or Yankees but I just read the Red Sox are in the mix as well. If I had to pick one I'd say DodgersWho do you think will get him?
He's a SoCal kid.
Angels?
No shot. The days of them being The Evil Empire are gone.
That actually doesn’t sound like a crazy contract. It has a 21m aav and $$s shrink as we go forward, so by the end of that contract, 21m will be similar to a lower end starting level player.just wow
Braves signed INF Matt Olson to an eight-year $168 million extension.
The deal comes with a $20 million option for 2030. Olson will make $15 million this season, $21 million in 2023, and $22 million a year over the remainder of his contract. Atlanta recently acquired Olson in a trade with the Athletics to replace long-time fan favorite Freddie Freeman at first base. The 27-year-old four-posted a .271/.371/.540 slash line with a career-high 39 homers and four stolen bases in 673 plate appearances last year and will be a fantasy baseball stud for years to come.

Would freeman have done 6/126?Just a little puzzling that they wouldn't give Freeman 6 years, but no problem with giving Olson 8.
Would freeman have done 6/126?
I legit don’t know. I haven’t been following the situation that closely.
Talking out of my ass, but maybe he was asking for 6/180? or had some riders that were unreasonable. Or maybe their scouting department just didn’t think he would age very well.I read he asked Atlanta for a 6 year deal and they declined. Not sure about the AAV

Freeman turned down 5 for 140Would freeman have done 6/126?

Assuming that is accurate, the Olson deal is a no brainer.Freeman turned down 5 for 140
