Jean didn't get INT's, other than that he was one of the better DB's Dallas had over the years. He was fine, I have no issues with where he was selected.

This is probably the first time EVER a fan of a 4-12 team picking 4th in the draft said, "All we need are some backup LBers and RB.

While I agree Dallas has several top tier players they also have holes. Plenty of them or they wouldnt have gone 4-12. The good news is the QB is coming back and its really easy to find RB's.

well we know what one of the holes was and that was at QB. we need to find a quality backup & future replacement for Romo

This seems like a bad year to have the 4th pick with the exception of DE IMO. Not a super talented class. I like Elliot i'm not sure if he's a 20 carry a game back though, if he were I trade back and get him. 2nd go for Carson Wentz. With the trade back maybe we pick up a 1st next season or possibly an extra second. Things could change with my opinion. Hargrave would also be a nice pick.

I imagine there is someone that will be available at 4 that we really want. if not though, that could be a valuable pick to another team. I'd prefer to not trade back though and instead try to get a cornerstone player. I don't think there is a QB that will be there worth the pick, DE Bosa might be our best bet. It isn't like you have can too many pass rushers.

But between now and the draft there will be 100 different guys we will be linked to. Luckily we are 4th, so that should preclude us from most of the trade rumors that 1st and 2nd usually get.

Dallas is going to need CB's more than pass rushers this off season. Drafting Bosa would be nice, but that is essentially saying Gregory is no longer in the team's plans - and I haven't seen nearly enough to write Gregory off. Hargreaves is the best fit in the top 5.

Compensatory Picks:

• These picks are determined at the league's annual meeting before the draft and are given to teams that in the previous year's free agency period have lost more or better free agent players than they gained.
• This highly confidential formula, created by the NFL Management Council, is based on players' salaries, playing time, post-season awards, and the net amount of free agents lost versus free agents signed.
• The maximum amount of picks any team can gain is 4 and they cannot be traded

IN Short Comp picks are determined and given out during the last league meeting before the draft. In this year I would expect that to be about 2 weeks before the draft. Unless they change the rule the max a team can get is 4 comp picks.

Also in the next league meeting (After the Super Bowl) they are actually planning to vote on if Comp picks can be traded which would actually be huge.

I wouldn't necessarily be against a trade down, but I also want to get one of the premium talents in this draft. I'm leaning towards staying put, but I can definitely see the sense in a trade.

I wonder how much Jerry is paying McClay? Also, have to wonder if there is an agreement in place between Jerry and McClay - maybe something along the lines of McClay becomes GM when Jerry is gone? Can't imagine why McClay would stay in his current role if he is getting offers to be GM somewhere else.

I wouldn't necessarily be against a trade down, but I also want to get one of the premium talents in this draft. I'm leaning towards staying put, but I can definitely see the sense in a trade.

I'm half way there on the Florida corner but mostly because I want a corner early like most seasons. I truly value that position second only to QB for a football team now that the game is basically 7 on 7 with basketball picks. Ball recognition and skill while the ball is in the air are a lost art. Seems most guys no longer play street football growing up. I also trust somewhat that jerry will continue to listen to the people he pays. I think we're lacking playmakers. Take Dez off the field and we had none. I know we lack play makers in the d backfield and see value with 4 picks in the first 75 IF the right guy pulls the lever.

I also understand the logic of QB early and would feel better with 4 within the first 75 especially if one is a QB

I really like Elliott as well, and love the idea of trading down and still getting him, then addressing 2 other needs in the 2nd. Jerry is the king of the trade down, hopefully we go that route
