What sort of measurable would you put on Bernard Scott doing well? A 100 yard game for another team?

He is not an every down back but has performed on ST's and Offense...Hell he was nice on Kick offs and that went away.....Let him compete there as well... I think our line has been a hinderance and injuries...Just not ready to give up on him...if he looks like shit in the preseason then you are guys are right and Im wrong....I think if he lights it up in the preseason then put Rex on the PS and give Hue 1 year to work with Bernard Scott...I trust in Hue..

Looks like McCalebb is being converted to CB, so we do not have to worry about him competing for the HB position.

Hopefully they know what they are doing.

On the plus side, I really like the other two guys they just picked up in CFA...

New Mexico linebacker Jordan Campbell (Maualuga's eventual replacement)

Oklahoma State kicker Quinn Sharp (he is a good alternative for kicker, very accurate and a really good punter too)

Come on Crash!! You know the drill Of course we don't know what we are doing by switching McCalebb's position. How often do we actually have a guy switch positions and it works?

Rey's replacement? Over Marv's dead body.

Only the Bengals would take a guy with 4.2 speed and the 4th most all-purpose yards in his school's history and switch him to a position he last played in High School. Smh!

McCalleb seems like an enticing option at special teams and returns, and occasional offensive packages (like we do with Hawkins)

Not sure they are serious about letting him be a CB, it takes serious experience.
I mean, they could list Hawkins as a CB too, if they didn't want to carry that many on the depth chart.

Even though Onterio McCalebb (5'10" 170) is only 170 lbs I still believe he can be a weapon on this team as he reminds me a lot of is the Chief's Dexter McCluster (5'8" 170). McCluster is an explosive triple threat who is dangerous running, receiving and returning kicks. If the the Bengals were to use McCalebb the way the Chiefs use McCluster we may have another "Burfict-esque" Free Agent find on our hands because McCalebb's value is using his speed against defenses not playing a position he's never played before.

amazing that between Jamaal Charles and Dexter McCluster the chiefs still can't win any games.

I have to believe the Bengals are satisfied with their rb situation, last season they were more than satisfied.

How do you guys see the FB/HB - TEs situation shaking down. Do they even keep a FB this year?

I wouldn't be shocked to see Pressley on IR or at the very least PUP. In this case, they could quite possibly go without a fullback.

I will say though that the years that we have gone without a true fullback have been the years that we have struggled the most in the running game. That could be different now that we're dealing with Gruden rather than Brat, but I think it warrants consideration. Remember when our fullback was Dan Coats?

Smith has played a little FB. Between him and Charles, I think we could make do with them as an H-Back/FB hybrid if Pressley can't go. Even if Pressley was ready, I still think we would have seen a whole lot of single back, two TE, two WR sets, with plenty of motion involved this year.
