I live about 15 miles from Plymouth. There are will turkeys all over the place. I have no knowledge of the actual menu and I don't know if the relatives of today's turkeys came from somewhere else.

I’m in western Mass and there are turkeys all over the place … they are the same strain as the native turkey but I was shocked to find out that all the pheasant around here are stocked annually! Although I haven’t hunted since I was a kid … so …

Last wild turkey I ate was in California.
Turkeys would gather at my Father's house to gather the fermenting berries from his Hawthorne tree.
They would get drunk off their ass's eating the rotten berries and this made them easy to catch.
The berries would ripen right before Thanksgiving. How convenient I figured.....

My turkey was amazing but I grill them a lot anyway. Separated the leg quarters from the breast b/c they cook faster and have a different internal temperature than the breast meats. Successfully both turned out amazing.

Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving. Spent Tuesday through Yesterday at my daughter's in Texas. We had a great holiday.

Oddly enough, for third straight Thanksgiving, contractors somehow found the time to do work at my house. The pool itself is finished. Deck needs the final coat of acrylic and the yard needs to be graded to code or the city will suspend the contractors work in the county. That and the gutter design was f*cked up and subs followed the drawing and ended the cage gutter at the old gutter. Nice space for rain to drain between the two. Contractor is supposed to fix it. Got a feeling I'll be hiring a lawyer.

Don't assume the worsed. Contractor usuall wants to do it right but employees make mistakes - especiially around the holidays.
Trust but verify. Ask the contractor how he will fix it......

My turky was tasty.
Had leftovers last night and will again tonight.
I'm going to make turkey avacado sandwiches with homemade sweet potatoe fries - also leftovers from the sweet potatoe casserole my wife did not make!

Sometimes yes...sometimes no.

I've worked for and had as lower tiered subs that were straight up crooks if they were not watched.

My subs have always been watched - even the good ones.
Making mistakes is different than being crooked!

Good foremen or managers minimize mistakes. I always try toi hire contractors that have a history and reputation of doing anything as if they were doing it for their wives.

Of course. There are times though. A pre-bid or preconstruction meeting for upcoming projects, progress meetings with the subs superintendent and PM, things like that. I have come in on a Saturday and found a sub working when they were not supposed to be and I have had them tell me they would not be onsite because of the many days of rain and then I saw them when I happened to drive by. Crooks are crooks.

Some companies it's in their DNA to be crooked. Some it is their way of business to do the best at all times.

I've had the great opportunity to work mostly for the latter these past 35 hears...or so.

Even as 65% of marriages end up in divorce?????
My guess: 32.5% would never do anything for their wives; 32.5% of wives expect that treatment without giving anything in return and 35% stay married.

My point was that they wouldn't want to screw up something that would rile up their wives. "Happy wife, Happy life".........

Just celebrated 50 years with mine.
