I love that they brought up the Chiefs here. The first SB winner was arguably the Chiefs best team even to this day because of the defense.

1. 85 Bears
1a. 00 Ravens
3. 07 Giants

Lots of great performances, though. Tampa Bay knew the plays against the Raiders. Broncos and Chiefs were depleted on Oline against the Seahawks and Bucs. I also think the Broncos took advantage of OL issues that the Panthers had in the SB. All good performances for sure but I think I'm okay with the top 3.

I know one of the best defenses against the passing game was Dallas Defense vs. the Broncos.
Craig Morton was 4/15 for 39 yds & 4 INTs
& the back up was 4/10 for 22 yds.

Could you imagine playing in a superbowl & going 8/25 for only 61 yds & 4 INTs!

As an individual performance, Gruden using Dungy's Tampa Bay defense to destroy the offense that he built was very impressive.

John Lynch said the game was just like practice, because Gruden as the scout team QB, was mimicking Gannon's mannerisms perfectly.

Gruden ended up being a total fraud and he's out of the league for good reasons, but as far as one-hit wonder performances go, that was very impressive.

Easy to say the '85 Bears, but that was a lame duck Pats team.

Titans in 2000 in a losing effort was pretty special against a record breaking Rams offense. Almost pulled a huge upset.

Ravens in 2001. That defense the last end of that season is arguably better than the '85 Bears. Absolutely carried that team to a title, and won in blowout fashion.

Giants in '08 against the GOAT in his prime, and holding them to 14. And more importantly, winning.

And the Pats holding the Rams to 3 points in 2019, tying a Super Bowl record.

Actually, Dungy’s Tampa Bay 2 defense was developed by Chuck Noll which was used to destroy the Vikings in SB IX….easily one of the most dominant performances in SB history……

Thanks for that one. It would have been hard for me to remember that particular game since it happened 8 and a half years before I was born.

The Steel Curtain brought the pain that day.

Gruden is out of the league for calling Goodell a fag. That’s a pretty gay reason imo.

You gotta put the Seahawks up here, holding Denver who averaged 37 points a game all year, and 606 points in the regular season, the most in league history, and Seattle held them to 8 points! .. That was arguably the best Super Bowl defensive performance of all time…

2013 Broncos

Total Yards Per Game: 457.3 (1st)

Passing Yards Per Game: 340.2 (1st)

Rushing Yards Per Game: 117.1 (15th)

Points Per Game: 37.9 (1st)

Anyone that doesn’t tip your hat to that performance by Seattle is a Seahawks hater !!

He also sucked at his drafts. He was a relic of the turn of the century that didn't make adjustments to the modern game.

If he was going to multiple Super Bowls in Oakland/Vegas, I think he survives. As it is, he completely failed in his second stint as a coach.

The Raiders improved their record every year he was there his second stint. He didn’t lose his job over performance. Just one man’s thin skin.

I believe DC Bud Carson came up with the Cover 2 defense.

Carson probably deserves the most credit, but Noll had a hand on everything that went on during those years, incredible evaluator of talent, hands on in the draft and a really intelligent man that got the most out of the talent in the room……completely underrated in every conversation of great coaches…tremendous respect for that guy
