There's no way we'll take Calvin Pryor with Taylor Lewan still on the board. We need insurance for Jake Long and Barksdale. Lewan is a stud.

I thought Saffold was the insurance. You know, relying on someone injury prone to fill in for someone who gets injured...seems to be the plan.

Anyways, time for some premature green beer

Saffold will be starting at guard. I would rather keep Saffold at guard -where he excels-and bring in Lewan off the bench. If Long gets injured again, Lewan is the long term answer, not Saffold.

Happy Saint Patrick's day! :suds:

I disagree. Pryor fills a hole that needs immediate attention at FS. Lewan fills a "what-if" hole with Long's injury. Otherwise, he's a right tackle, which can be addressed just as easily on day 2. The FS depth drops considerably from Dix/Pryor to Reynolds, then even further to the rest of the field.

My First Round Mock now that we have Saffold

1. Houston - Jadeveon Clowney, DE/OLB
2. St. Louis - Sammy Watkins WR
3. Jacksonville - Blake Bortles, QB
4. Cleveland - Teddy Bridgewater, QB
5. Oakland - Greg Robinson OT
6. Atlanta - Jake Matthews, OT
7. Tampa Bay - Khalil Mack, DE
8. New York Giants (Trade with Minnesota) - Mike Evans, WR
9. Buffalo - Brandin Cooks WR
10. Detroit - Justin Gilbert CB
11. Tennessee - Anthony Barr, OLB
12. Minnesota (Trade with New York) - Haha Clinton Dix S
13. Dallas (Trade with St. Louis) - Aaron Donald DT
14. Chicago - Kony Ealy DE
15. Pittsburgh - Eric Ebron TE
16. St Louis (Trade with Dallas) - Calvin Pryor, S
17. Baltimore - Taylor Lewan, OT
18. New York Jets - Odell Beckham Jr WR
19. Philadelphia (Trade with Miami) - Darqueze Dennard, CB
20 Arizona - Derek Carr QB
21 Green Bay - CJ Mosley, ILB
22 Miami (Trade with Philadelphia) - Xavier Su'a Filo, G/T
23 Kansas City - Marqise Lee, WR
24 Cincinatti - Jason Verret CB
25 San Diego - Louis Nix, NT
26 Carolina (Trade with Cleveland) - Kelvin Benjamin WR
27 New Orleans - Jordan Matthews WR
28 Cleveland (Trade with Carolina) - Bishop Sankey, RB
29 New England - Timmy Jernigan, DT
30 San Francisco - Stephon Tuitt, DT
31 Denver - Ryan Shazier LB
32 Oakland (Trade with Seattle) - Johnny Manziel QB

I like the Rams picks, but I doubt the Bills go with Cooks. They already have their speed guy in Goodwin; if going WR they need a true #1 type to bump Stevie Johnson to a #2. With Evan off the board in your example, I would expect them to go either with Benjamin (if a WR) or a different position.

Shopson - I strongly disagree. We'll have to wait until draft day to see who is right. I say there is no way Lewan lasts to pick #17 in round one and that Lewan will be taken before Pryor in the draft.

That could very well be, as he is rated higher. I'm just speaking from the position of need for the Rams only. I would be surprised to see Lewan last past the Bills, unless they get Watkins or Evans.

Unless the Rams are already thinking about moving past Long, I can't see Fisher drafting a RT in the first round.

Only way we get Watkins AND Matthews is if we trade up Silas.. Matthews will not be there at #13.

I like it Clayton. But seems risky to move from 13 to 16. Pryor could easily go to Dallas, Pittsburgh maybe even Chicago. I would be happy with Dennard if Pryor was gone though.

Pryor is 25th on CBS' big board, 18th on Walterfootball's big board, 29th on Drafteks big board, etc. If he gets taken, so be it. He is a reach at 13 but if the Rams could trade down and get an extra 3rd or 4th round pick then that takes the sting out of it

I whole heartily agree.

Think if we go Watkins and Pryor in the first, we can fill our Oline needs in day 2
