If I were the Cavs this is what I would do:
1. Trade Korver
2. Trade Love
3. Do something with Jr and Hill's "expiring deals"- whether its taking back bad money from other teams or for assets or whatever. You MIGHT have to wait until the end of the year to do it since thats when they would ahve the most worth. Any team trying to get under the cap could trade a contract and then just cut Hill or Smith---- that has some real value in the league right now with how cap space is. Imagine if a team could have done that this year.
4. I would not say "tank"--- but yah- pretty much tank. Just play the young guys and try and develop them, and in a deeper East, and in the WEst were their are practically no teams tanking, you should be able to get a top 5 pick fairly easily
The CAvs are sooooo much better off than last time LeBron left. They have their title, their 4 appearances- and some actual talent.
You'd be kissing his taint and calling him one of the best players of all time if he decided to come to Cleveland.
Not that he would because nobody wants anything to do with that shithole any more.
I can't imagine that Korver would get the Cavs a 1st of any kind. Unless Lebron really wants him. Love has value but it's tricky because you will need to take back a lot of salary to make the trade happen most likely.
A late first or a couple 2nd for Korver is what Amico was suggesting
People overrate the value of expiring contracts. They only have value if the Cavs are willing to take on longer term contracts of equal value.
That is EXACTLY how i said they should use them- taking on longer term contracts of equal or, likely even LESSER value in order to get assets- like Baron DAvis--- or Speights and Ellington, etc. 2 summers ago expirings werent worth anything with the cap hike- now they actually do have some value if you will take back bad money
There are about 5 teams that are likely to be tanking this year.
I can see maybe the Bulls tanking and the Hawks tanking in the East. In the West- i dont really know anyone that is tanking in the West.
True. The Cavs had nothing when Lebron left.
i didnt have anything personally against Wade i just knew he was a shell of his former self a lot earlier than you didRemember how much he hated on Wade until the day he left the Heat?

good call on the Knicks, and Hawks- though the Bulls may be a little better than you think they will be. Lavine/Dunn/Markenen/etc. is not just terrible.Well ok I guess. Kinda makes getting free agents harder. If you are going full tank then it makes sense though.
Knicks may go winless this year.
Grizzlies will have significant incentive to tank
Hawks will be tanking.
Bulls wil be tanking by the end of the season
Magic will be tanking unintentionally at first
Nets will be tanking for their 1st lottery pick in forver that they get to keep
Wade can still play. Or maybe you missed the playoffs.i didnt have anything personally against Wade i just knew he was a shell of his former self a lot earlier than you did
"Riley has lost his heater,"Remember how much he hated on Wade until the day he left the Heat?
Fear not Cavs fans. Billy Preston to the rescue
