Brian Westbrook and Brian Baldinger were commenting on the radio this morning that Bradford is like a college QB out there--he is only reading half the field, usually one or two progressions. He is turning to one side, going through progressions there, and throwing it. That's good in terms of getting the ball out fast, but it means he is often staring down a receiver.

Sam has been afraid since day 1. And Pardon me if i'm interrupting.. He's never wanted to go down field. He's slow on his progressions, doesn't really take over a huddle at all, doesn't communicate with WRs even on the sideline, won't ever pull the trigger downfield, and is scared to death of a pass rush.

The guy has never "had it". He ran a Big 12 spread O. Came to the NFL and made NO ONE around him better.

He was literally named "Captain Checkdown" as a Ram.
Thats is pretty much all i've seen so far. Except in the preseason. Then he was Johnny Unitas. Apparently he's known for that.

They would know more than i, but i feel he plays like a prototypical back-up QB.

I think if they start out, say 0-4 Chip will be making a move.

I would think Chip would be moved before Sanchez comes in

Chip is not going anywhere. Lurie is all in on Chip, whether it takes 1 or more seasons to win a SB. Period.

What's Kevin Kolb doing these days?

Running a company providing frac water in Texas - something which I came across yesterday in an article about concussions and CTE.

Took him 8 months to recover somewhat from his final concussion (nearly got himself and somebody else killed when driving to the Bill's facility a few weeks after sustaining that one when he zoned out as a result of that concussion; immediately stopped driving and pretty much decided to call it quits then and there). Only after 8 months he would go without serious symptoms for more than a (few) day(s) max at a time. Yet even now, on occasion, some of these symptoms return.

The article interviewed him and another former Bill's player that had to retire as a result from concussions. Both agreed that the Bills organisation supported them well through this process (including getting them to specialists, also after retirement), and actually - still - regularly check up on them.

IIRC it took Chris Pronger close to two years to function somewhat properly in 'normal' society for more than a week at a time; and basically function in such a capacity as to be able to hold down something akin to a job, even some of the relative cushy jobs some of them get after their careers are over.

Hey Dutch, good to see you. I'm the former Davekn from KFFL.

I just threw out Kolb's name as a joke. VERY sorry to read this.

Reid won 6 Division titles in 14 years. Not good enough for Lurie. Year 3 of CK's tenure. Not unreasonable for Lurie to expect one this year. "All in" can change very quickly.

Well, missed the joke... that said, I think I saw his name come up somewhere as well. And yeah, that was hard to read. And then imagine that Chris Pronger had it even much worse, IIRC. Not sure where I came across it, but I came across an article somewhere where it came down to him hardly being able to leave the house for a year. And it took him longer to be able to actually attend a game or so without being certain that he would have a relapse. Yeah - this looks bad for both of them.

Well back to current QB play - we can both agree that as it is, both the Skins as well as the Eagles have a questionable QB situation at best. Though I think that as it is, at least the Eagles situation has still some potential to improve somewhat this season. But as things look, both are f-ed for the forseeable future (unless they luck out in the draft).

Mind you, most of the titles were early in his reign as well. But what cost Reid is job was the mess of the final three seasons. It seems he simply had lost the plot - especially on the defensive side of the ball - with the death of Jimmy Johnson, and the mess with his sons in his private life, which he also brought into the Eagles as well. Likewise some issues with drafted personnel, for which Reid was largely responsible. They were - especially on the defensive side - in many respects disastrous. Many are talking about Marcus Smith being a bad pick by Kelly, that one actually looks stellar compared to what Reid produced during the last few seasons he was here.

Reid also played a pivotal role in the locker room as well as the coaches room falling completely apart, and becoming an utter disaster - I would argue the worst in the NFL by the end of his tenure - with his (non-)decision making the last seasons he was here.

By all accounts - so far - Kelly has not lost the locker room or the coaches, and the environment is far from toxic.

Yep both teams are fucked. The joke was referencing obscure ex-Eagles QBs who weren't worth a shit.

Agreed it was time for Reid to go. Eagles played better last game, I expect a field goal win for them this weekend.

Superbowl? You might want to get some experience first. Green Bay's offense is tons better than yours and Arizona's and Seattle's defenses are better than yours. You're expecting to just go into Green Bay and Arizona/Seattle and win?

I wouldn't be surprised if Sanchez starts against us because the former saints will force Kelly's hand.

Lurie is "all in" with Chip, meaning that he turned everything over to him - sink or swim. He leash will be long, or until after several years of not progressing. If we don't win the division and get at least one playoff win, I will be surprised. I expect chip to make several key moves in the offseason to make us strong in every area, just like he did this offseason with the defense. I'm on record with this.
