It's all relevant.

His quality of athlete would go down @ Nebraska.

Richt record in last 5 years at Georgia

2008 (10-3)
2009 (6-7)
2010 (8-5)
2011 (10-4)
2012 (12-2)

Pelini record in last 5 years

2008 (9-4)
2009 (10-4)
2010 (10-4)
2011 (9-4)
2012 (10-4)

Richt has 7 more years experience all at the same school, same recruiting grounds..

I'd stick with Pelini and the potential to improve as he gains more experience.

You know the sec and conference argument is gonna come up. Lets swap schedule and see who comes out better...
He can also tell recruits that he has put a lot of player through to the draft and won a bcs bowl game does he have some bad losses yes but nothing like the ISU at home that we had.

Plus the only potential that bo will get better is with a weaker schedule
Recruit will only get better when we bring home trophies of conference or bcs bowl games. The staff rather complain about the recruiting issue then make head way and recruit like mad man

I honestly think if richt coached in the big12 or bigten he would be fine. He's on the hot seat bc he couldn't beat satan I mean saban or Meyer or miles who all won titles sec wise that why he gets a bad rap.

true, but look at the talent that Richt has worked with. I mean Stafford should have put you in a BCS National title game.

Bo is a good coach, horrendous recruiter and an even worse DC selector. If the two were to switch places, in a few years things would just even out to what it is exactly right now. We're at a bit of a disadvantage insofar as it doesn't really matter who our coach is our recruiting will never be top ten caliber

Yep........Ahman Greens quit growing on trees years ago......

Now we have to actually travel to find talent and some how talk them into moving into a cow pasture for the next 4 years of their lives rather than going down to SEC land where every single girl who goes to College is a 10 and wants to fuck.

If TO had stayed on a few more seasons and kept the run going instead of retiring who knows how that may have changed the national perception for recruiting, KU doesn't appear to have any trouble luring in the big fish to play round ball

I am a big fan of Bo. I wouldn't say that he us a horrendous recruiter I would just say it's very difficult to recruit to Nebraska especially in the fall. I think it will get easier with Pinnacle Bank Arena in new stadium editions

Like I said when talent is even coaching is the deciding factor. Don't forget Florida tebow team was stack with speed and talent if wasn't for saban Florida might have won like 3-4 straight titles

My point is if he could pull that talent into Lincoln we would do work in the bigten bc that talet would put us up with osu. I mean this gonna be year three of bigten and were already consider third best again to another rival again.

Neb needs talent and fast. The staff makes excuses but uk tenn an ole miss are making moves recruiting wise. Neither of those three schools could combine to match half our history . What are they telling them to have recruits fly over to them??

It's an arm race in NCAA Fb now unless your bill Snyder you better get some young guns that can play or coaches that can develop talent. But the coaches that can develop talent are small group and not many out there.

Richt might blow talent but he's doing it to coaches that have titles... Who bo losing to first year coaching staff in mora. BB in whisky young fitz in nwestern...
Really?!?

I don't know that I'd go so far as calling Bo a 'good coach'.

He's won the vast majority of games he should win, but he's at Nebraska. He's got championship tradition, facilities, avid fan base, averages top 25 recruiting classes and gets good media exposure.
He should be winning the games he's winning.
A 'good coach' wouldn't be losing the iffy games in embarrasing fashion. A 'good coach' at least splits those games and the ones he loses are somewhat close. Bo gets out-coached in big games against 'good coaches'.
We can only hope that Bo is still 'learning' and will eventually become a 'good coach'. Otherwise Nebraska will waddle in just aabove average land with an occasional lucky bounce to 11 wins and a Top 15 finish.

I get that is hard to get kids to go to Lincoln, but I been to Tuscaloosa, Knoxville, Starksville, Oxford and Gainsville, and let me tell you. Not a hell of a lot going on any of those cities. Fact, they are pretty shitty places. I always felt that Bo needs to hire a used cars saleman, a sleazy guy that will sell a timeshare to his own mother. Now, he doesn't need to lie or buy players, but sell the shit out the school. Go get Ron Zook, dude is not doing anything right now, but he can recruit like a mofo.

first of all they are all already in the south. Secondly...the recruiting at Kentucky recently seems a little fishy to me.

Tennesse can sell that 110,000 person stadium...other than that, idk what explains them

Ole Miss doesnt surprise me. Once they get a guy on campus its hard for them to say no. Ole Miss has some of the hottest sluttiest chicks in the nation, and the Grove is a legend. its one of the best party schools in the nation, hands down

and I keep thinking that this year, Bo is coaching for his job. I really don't think anything less than 11 wins will do anymore.

Everybody wants a top 10 recruiting class without a top 10 coach. Finish a couple of seasons in the top 10 of the polls with your low to mid 20's recruits and the top 10 classes will start showing up because kids will see that they can be coached up.
Bo is getting the poll rankings consistent with his recruiting rankings. ie..Low to mid 20's.

Bo is also 50% at best in his last 4 games of a season. The Huskers don't finish well.
Once again, finishing well would put them in or near top 10 and the recruiting would get a similar boost because the kids can be shown meaningful results.

I'm not basing the good coach term off wins vs losses rather getting good production from players who aren't blue chips, of course last season and this coming one may change my mind drastically, in terms of defense, bo has nothing to do with the offense

He's getting just about what one would expect from an average coach.
25th or so ranked recruiting classes, 25th or so poll rankings. Nothing more.
There are a plethora of other coaches who aren't getting top 30 classes yet are getting top 20, top 15, or even top 10 poll finishes.
Bo has pissed away a lot of opportunities to get this program to the next level in the last 4 years. He flops when everybody's watching and he's developing a reputation for it.
Those in the national media don't percieve Bo as even a top 25 coach. He wins big against cupcakes, wins close games against mediocre teams, and loses (often big) when it's time to put up or shut up.

He's got two to three years here with a lot of cupcakes and mediocre opponents. Sprinkled in there will be one decent early OOC opponent (traditional loss), one or two above average B-one-G opponents, a potential CCG against an above average opponent, and a bowl game against an above average opponent.
We shall see if year 6 or 7 experience can help him get this program back to at least second tier.

Meh.

For every recruit who's priority is beaches, bitches, and bling, there is a recruit who wants to get a good education, develop and play at a tradition rich program that has an opportunity to win championships, and get a shot at the NFL.
Unfortunately those schools are Ohio St, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Oklahoma.

Knoxville is actually a pretty nice town and part of the state, but I agree with the others. I'm in Bamma now and it's not exactly a Shapiro pool party

HA! back in another site, I made a thread about selling cold weather to kids, some cuff at the idea, but I believe that at some point a kid from say, Louisiana will ask about the winter. I say, look at the NFL and especially on Defense, the best defensive players came from schools in cold weather. I think is takes more heart and determination to get up at 4:30 to start training at 5 am when is 7 below 0, then to go training when is a nice 75 degrees. But really look up all the leading tacklers in the NFL, and you will see a lot of guys from up north. I believe playing in cold weather builds character and determination.
