I started thinking about what it would be like to raise my family in my hometown.

I feel my calling here goes above basketball. I have a responsibility to lead, in more ways than one, and I take that very seriously. My presence can make a difference in Miami, but I think it can mean more where I’m from. I want kids in Northeast Ohio, like the hundreds of Akron third-graders I sponsor through my foundation, to realize that there’s no better place to grow up. Maybe some of them will come home after college and start a family or open a business. That would make me smile. Our community, which has struggled so much, needs all the talent it can get.

He's a Laker. If he were on the Cavs we all know he'd be talking up Ingram like he was the next KD.

Can't argue w/ that. wiggy is the homer of homers in the NBA threads.

Several experts compared Ingram to KD-lite when he was drafted. I think they may have said that was his ceiling if he developed like he should.

One thing I have never done is listen to the mumbo-jumbo when a CBB player's being called the next this or that. My all time favorite example was Danny Ferry being the next Larry Bird.:pound:But that kinda stuff has & always will happen. You know those sports talking heads need something to talk about. Even when the topic's absurd.

Honestly, there are at least 1 or 2 Laker fans that are even worse, IMO.

As a Celtics fan I never wanted to say anything like that because it might look bad. You are correct though.

Ingram's already a better player than Ferry ever was.

You missed my point entirely. I never said Ingram isn't a good player. As a matter of fact I was going back & forth w/ wiggy the other day defending him. My point was, well I already said it in comment # 1145.

You thought I said Ferry > Ingram. Not sure what's more appropriate :pound: or .

you guys all have comprehension problems.

I just said I think Ingram will be a very good player--- akin to an Al Horford

I just dont think he will ever be a great player this is like a top 25 guy. He might make an all star game or two during his career- but he wont be a guy like a Wall or Lillard etc. that you think of as a perennial top 25 guy.

That is a perfectly reasonable and is the most likely option by far. What are the chances that Ingram becomes a top 25 guy? 1 in 10? 1 in 8? certainly not 50%. If he beomes somewhere between a top 30- and a top 50 player that would be a pretty great outcome for him.

you guys make it seem like i think he sucks---- i just dont think he will be a top level player and a guy that is a top 2 player on a championship team. That is certainly not an insult.

does anyone think that is a likely outcome? that he is a top 25 guy?

I agree with this. Not likely to be a superstar, could easily be an allstar.

As I have said multiple times, 1 LeBron James or Kawhi Leonard is worth 3 Klay Thompsons or Damian Lillards. A legit superstar is impossible to value.

I agree. I think Ingram will eventually be a good player, but I'm thinking more Horford level as opposed to KD/Kawhi.

Al Horford is a very odd choice to use as a comparison. PF/C vs SF.
