They're [the FO] Jesus freaks, who have immunity from seemingly all accountability because they drunkenly stumbled into 2015.

Dont forget 2014

It's not like 2015 was a fluke

They were an historic performance from MadBum from going back to back

I don't think the team itself was a fluke, I think the process that built it, however, was. I don't have much faith they can do it twice.

I see the reasoning behind the DH. The NL game is a more pure version of baseball but the AL game is a better product for the fans and players. I think the Cardinals had a hand in keeping the DH from coming to the NL so I think this counts for this topic.

I thought I saw something on SportsCenter, or maybe it was Outside the Lines, where the team with the non-vote keeping the DH out of the NL years ago was the Phillies. The story goes that the GM was waiting on word from the owner which way to vote and when the owner couldn't be reached the Phillies GM voted no.

Also Yost blew it in game 4 of 2014, not wanting to put in one of the big three too 'early' to preserve a lead that would've got you a 3-1 series lead, with 2 home games to close it out. I'll never forget that.

and instead, he was able to use none of them before heading into the MadBum game

Playing the splits no matter what. Hinch and Cora used their own judgement when necessary.

I hate that about your team too

Apparently Bellinger is supposed to start all year as both OF/1B so maybe they'll start doing things a little differently now that Farhan "the Laptop" Zaidi is gone. It's hard to be happy with your team when Kelly, Eovaldi and Price are dominating you every night and your manager is scared to use his better arms on back-to-back nights.

I think I saw the same thing. From wikipedia:

"A majority of the 12 member teams was necessary to pass the rule, and the measure was expected to pass. However, when the teams were informed that the rule would not come into effect until the 1982 season, Philadelphia Phillies vice president Bill Giles was unsure of how the team owner, Ruly Carpenter, wanted him to vote. Unable to contact Carpenter, who was on a fishing trip, Giles was forced[by whom?] to abstain from voting. Prior to the meeting, Harding Peterson, general manager for the Pittsburgh Pirates, was told to side with the Phillies.[clarification needed] The final tally was four teams voting for the DH (Atlanta Braves, New York Mets, St. Louis Cardinals, and San Diego Padres), five votes against (Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds, Los Angeles Dodgers, Montreal Expos, and San Francisco Giants), and three abstentions (Philadelphia Phillies, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Houston Astros). Five days after that meeting, the Cardinals fired their general manager, John Clairborne, who was the leading proponent for the adoption of the DH rule, and the National League has not held another vote on the issue"
