I love em, but still have them behind Metallica and Megadeth. I might even put Maiden and Sabbath above them.
My pops-in law is from Boston.Met Steve Tyler twice, he isn't exactly good looking, but he's an actual approachable regular guy.
Liv is even better looking In person than in movies.
This isn't a list of my favorite bands but each one of these concerts were special to me for various reasons.
1. Simon & Garfunkle Central Park 1980 - My first real concert. 12 years old and overwhelmed by the experience.
2. Leonard Cohen - Madison Square Garden 2009 - A friend had an extra ticket so I went. Incredible experience despite not really knowing a lot of his songs.
3. Ping Floyd Foxboro 1988 - Getting to see them was a special moment for me.
4. Roger Waters Worcester Center 1988 - Getting to see him in the same year was maybe even better.
5. Fun. 2012 Irving Plaza - Won tickets to a Google special event. A tremendous night in general for me as I was on a date and I had one of the best sushi dinners of my life.
6. The White Stripes/The Shins/Brendan Benson Coney Island 2005 - The White Stripes were incredible.
7. U2 Metlife 2010 - They were past their prime but they know how to put on a show.
8. The Black Keys Maxwells 2003 - Maxwells was a tiny concert hall in Hoboken. Saw the Black Keys before they were huge.
9. The Black Crows Central Park Summer Stage 2009 - Summer Stage was always a great place to see a show and the Black Crows nailed it.
10. Jack Johnson - PNC Park 2010 - Mellow but highly enjoyable. I would love to see him in a small venue.
In no order, and maybe not even the best...I'm sure some faded memories will return.
The Who
Jethro Tull
Paul McCartney
Have seen Primus, like 9 times and have met the band twice.
Smoked pot with B-Real from Cypress Hill before a show.
Saw Tool on the side stage at Lollapollooza with maaaybe 200 other people.
Ozzy
Pantera w/Clutch
Clash of the Titans tour(Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax and an unknown Alice In Chains)
Alice In Chains at the aforementioned Lollapolooza, he drank two fifths of jack in under an hour. He was fucking smashed, and was making up up crude lyrics as he went.
Seen the Dead a few times.
The Pixies
Suicidal Tendencies
Metallica half a dozen times before they sucked bawls
Dylan and handful of times
pretty much every decent punk band you can shake a stick at, and a few shitty ones.
Saw White Zombie on Halloween night in Vegas on a grip of shrooms.
Saw Kurt Cobain jump into the crowd and beat the shit out of a fan that was allegedly raping a girl in the audience.
Have seen The Melvins prolly 20 times.
Hmmm?
1. ELP - Brain Salad Surgery tour, 1974 Germany
2. Blue Oyster Cult - Spectres tour, 1976, OKC, Bob Seger and SBB opened and both played an encore together
3. Rainbow -1978
4. Eric Clapton/Charlie Daniels Band -1977
5. Ten Years After - 1974, Germany
6. REO Speedwagon -1979, these guys put on a hell of a show
7. Ted Nugent - 1977, loudest damn concert I ever went to
8. Savoy Brown - 1980, Kim Simmonds is under rated
Yes, but I missed so many because I was a poor army soldier and then a poor college student. Led Zep, Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper, Marshall Tucker, Moody Blues come to mind. Had a chance to see all of those and couldn't afford tickets.Outstanding list. To see these groups at their height must have been a thrill
I've seen LOG twice and they were awesome!! Slipknot...was good once and not so good the second time.Shit, on the fence for Slipknot and LOG.....................don't want to be the oldest guy there..........
I saw Megadeth a couple of summers ago. They barely spoke, playing song after song after song...Loved it!!I saw Megadeth at The Municipal Auditorium in Nashville. Sound was terrible but Mustaine's voice was freaky good, like Geddy.
