My ankles are so fucked from years of soccer that I had to give it up a few years ago, but definitely lots of golf this summer. Might actually go to Alabama in the fall to do the Robert Trent Jones golf trail.

I'm trying to learn about and do more with time lapse photography this summer.

And, as always, searching for future ex-girlfriends.

It's time to settle down, elo. You need to be looking for a future ex-wife.

LOL! (Btw, sweet looking ride, 43)

To jump in on the bike convo, 43 knows his stuff. The key is generally to get as far up that component scale as you can for the price point you want. You can often do that better when you avoid the biggest names. I bought a Jamis Nova years ago for just under $1,000. It still rides great today despite my best efforts to crash and destroy it. It has Shimano Tiagra parts. If I would have bought a Cannondale or Trek (or some other big brand) at the time, they would have charged like $500-1000 more for the same components, which as 43 said, is the most important thing.

Let me add one more piece of advice... ride it first!! Different bikes and companies have different angles/sizes. You have to know what works best for you and you won't know what you're comfortable on until you actually do a test ride. On that tip... if you want to save some money. Test ride and find the bike that's right for you. Find it on eBay and buy it. And then make sure and go back and patronize that store for shoes, jerseys, equipment, etc. But ride before you buy. You don't want to get a back you love the look of only to find it it's a shade too tall or that your back hurts when you ride it too much. Most bike stores are VERY helpful/knowledgeable and will let you take some test rides.

I just had four days chasing my grandsons 14 mo and 4 yo around and it's a job ! Then again you're probably younger than I.

It's tiring no doubt... even more so when we have our 2nd in December... but it's a job I always wanted... so I worked hard to ensure one day I could stay at home... she's starting to communicate (and understand more and more), the hardest part was spending all day with someone you couldn't reason with... teaches patience for sure...

But:
In my spare time I think, read, and meditate... I'm one of those weirdos.

43, I just went looking to find the bike I had as a kid and I think I found it.

1987 Dyno Detour - I remember that Xmas because me and my brother both got one.

Have you seen this Web site before? BMX Museum. It's pretty awesome. My guess is you probably have.

I play a lot of golf. Unfortunately this year I just got my first round of the year in last week. The good news is that it was a 76 (41-35), my lowest season-opening round in a dozen years. Sadly I probably won't get a chance to follow up on it for a couple of weeks at the least. Oh well, it'll probably just save me some disappointment.

Other than golf I like to do some back country camping/hiking/scrambling. I'm thinking of trying whitewater kayaking this summer. I've always wanted to do that and I'm not getting any younger. :bawling:

Most weekends will feature some motorsports event that I'm interested in on idiot box, so I'm good there.

As far as personal activities, I'm always working on some sort of home improvement activity this time of year. This time around it's the main bathroom. Contractors have already their bit: Now I've got to get a lot of painting done.

I try to get out for 9 holes every now & again in the mornings (I work evenings), but my shoulders have been bugging me as of late, so that's on hold for now.

You don't still *have* that(those) bike(s) do you? I have my brother in law's 92 Dyno Air in my basement that I need to finish restoring. Just missing the seatpost. My dumbass father in law was setting it up for a kid in the neighborhood to ride and took the seatpost out, lost it and then just clamped the seat to the top of the seat tube. Crushed the %^$& out of it. That was a nightmare to fix.

And yes, I am very familiar with the Museum. I am there almost as much as I am here.

I guess "Wilder in the Park" is going to have some tap dancing included this year!

How far are you commuting? I did that for awhile, it's rough.

Here was (one of) my bikes as a kid:
p1010550.jpg

*Not my actual bike - mine got completely destroyed and is in a landfill.

Thats how I found the BMX Museum, wanting to show my kids who didn't believe that boys rode pink bikes. That's when I found out it was one of five ever made in that color.

8547236204_34ee095fcd_b_blowup.jpg

THAT is what my actual bike looks like now. New to me frame and forks, but all my old parts. Repainted with that rare color. With super rare but very effective goalie helmet kick stand.

And if any of you still have those old BMX bike in your parents basement... seriously. Lets talk.

:L Sadly, no. Sold off many, many years ago.

Matty - The nut pad IS hilarious. Those foam tubes with the velcro wraparound - I remember those well.

Nice pink bikes, 43. Somebody is peacocking! ;)

That's cool you rebuilt it and the goalie kickstand is a classy upgrade.

So do you ride dirt tracks? Skate parks? You need to get a GoPro and post some vids!
