My son's baseball will take up every weekend from now until August, traveling around the Island and Lower Mainland of BC.

After that, I'll probably climb a mountain and do some biking, providing the bod isn't too hurting.

Speaking of biking; Giant makes a reasonably good mountain bike in the recreational range of bikes.

Still working at Bottsford Hospital, watch the grandsons (3) off and on, play some golf with the hubby. We've already done our vacation cruise. Coming to Buffalo, Boss, for HS Grad parties July 6-9. Planning a Vegas Poker trip week of 9/22. Ho hum.

Hey keny, Don't know how long it's been since your last visit but check out the waterfront when you get here. They've done a lot of nice things down at canalside and the marina area. They opened a new park and also have kayak, jet ski and water bike rentals plus the out door concerts almost every night. The News has a calendar listing who is playing.

HS reunion? If I remember you went to Ken West correct? I think my cousin is in town that week and wants to do a couple of day trips that week (unless they schedule my surgery that week) I wish I could find out soon :gaah:

Vegas Poker trip too eh? Good thing it's not this week they are talking about record breaking temps down there 114 or somewhere in that area and that is freaking hot I don't care if it is dry.

Anyway I hope you have a great time.

I went home a couple weeks ago to spend time with my family, got sick, couldn't fly back, and stayed an extra week.

But around the sickness, I got in three rounds of golf. I actually parred a few holes, but I also had a round so bad I stopped keeping score...

But throughout the summer I'll be playing basketball on Mondays and Wednesdays, racquetball on Thursdays (I was on fire yesterday), street hockey on Saturdays, and softball on Sundays. And of course watching baseball and going to work every day.

I'll also be expanding my brewing hobby and building a kegerator. I've got a lagering fridge now, too. Oh yes.

That was the one positive. That and more time off work.

Just watched the news and it's pretty hot out your way. It hit 128 in Death Valley and I think 116 in Vegas? They said they could make 130 in DV tomorrow. How is it in Tucson?

I heard officially 115 for high today in Vegas and a bit warmer Sat & Sun.

So F'n hot it doesn't really cool off to much at night - lows in the low 90's.

LOL, Yeah I heard the low was 92 the other night. Fuck that !!

We had almost 2 inches of rain in the northern burbs today and the air is very muggy I ache like hell from head to toe. That's why I'm posting at 3:30 am can't sleep for shit. The temps are fine but the air is super damp.

Mostly hovering around the 110s. I haven't collapsed from heat exhausted biking to or from work yet, though.

Yeah, there's really only about 8 bike manufacturers in the world. Diamond Back, Raliegh, Cervelo, Lapierre and Redline are all one company. One of my friends just bought a Raliegh and it is awesome.

GT, Schwinn (Bike shop - not dept store), Fuji, SE, Iron Horse, and Scattante are all one company.

That's why the frame doesn't matter very much. My GT Frame is the exact same as three other GT models, several Fuji and Scattante bikes too. The difference is how they paint them and outfit them.

late to the thread....sorry, but

This will be my gift to myself when I get back (hope I did this right):

I REAAAAAALLLY want to try carbon wheels.

yeah, I have a 2001 Colnago Master X-Light that I bought when I was living in Sicily. I absolutely love it. But now it's time to step up to the big leagues. The C59 is pricey, but I have a dealer friend that says he can get me a deal...we'll see. Either way, I'm treating myself.

And one of these days I want to make it to that indoor park you've shown on here....even though I'm more of a roadie, it just looks like a blast

no problem, Boss...

the C59? to get the bike built to the specs I want will be generally about $9300 or so. Like I said though, a dealer friend swears he can get dealer price, so I'm hoping around $7500-$8000.

The X-Light? was around $2800, but that was 12 years ago and in Italy (so no import mark up price).

my first cool elite bike was a Cannondale Killer V-900. Cost $3500 (if I remember correctly) in the late 90s
