but see thats what we have been saying. night games at nebraska do not mean the students are going to all be drunk assholes. we literally have a mentality running through us of "treat the visiting team well" and we really don't think its that much to ask to be treated with a little respect when we go on the road too. i guarantee you not a single husker fan WANTED to be nice to texas after the game in lincoln last year. but we were kind anyways, because thats how we think it should be done

Ok. Well I don't think you guys are going to see anything different on the road in Columbus or State College, especially, by the way. Michigan fans tend to be pretty low key, and Iowa is more similar culturally to Nebraska. Minnesota, Indiana, Illinois and Northwestern don't really have fans and I've never been to East Lansing.

I honestly feel that if someone is that offended by profanity, said in jest (as I said, the student sections swear at each other), then they need to be less sensitive.

well said. we just don't understand why you guys are okay with your fanbase being represented like this. we want our fan base to be seen as a kind, fun, welcoming fanbase who cares about our team. and we don't get why you wouldn't want to be that way....

Irule says he had a great time, and really only lost respect for the student section, but those of you who weren't even there go right ahead and be angry at the whole fan base and jump right on that high horse. I wonder if that has anything to do with the result on the field.

2. The asshole chant. I mean, sure, maybe you all still find vulgar language unacceptable, but we're not going to wash our mouths out with soap. I've done it. Nobody was actually upset with the opposing fan. It was just fun to us, and yes.

3. The Big Ten Football chant...I didn't really agree with it actually.

As to #1, I'm not allowed to respect the opinions of those who were there, when all I'm getting from y'all is "that's just what we do" and "if you can't handle foul language"......It frankly sounds like you all are forgiving classless behavior?

Do you think JJM's aunt and uncle were causing shit and needed to be personally harrassed for simply supporting their team? Do you think irule and grl got all liquored up and were talking shit to UW students and deserved the treatment they got?

I've been to a lot of stadiums, this was my second big ten stadium.... Happy valley wasn't bad at all.





I lost a lot of respect for the Badgers saturday, and losing more as this thread continues.

Anyway. This is hilarious. I've been in the student section. I know what I "felt" when I did the asshole chant. I know how all of my friends around me "felt." No one was aggressive about it. No one believes for a second that there weren't 10,000 Nebraska fans saying, "Ahh shit! Or Fuck!! Or Goddamnit Martinez!!" So we really don't care if you're upset that we put it together and swear as a group.

LOL!!! And we think meaningless swearing in a student section far removed from the field is a whole different thing. The fact that your students in our student section didn't even get hurt, despite the asshole chants, just like all the opposing students who I sat near in my day, really should tell you how "hostile" the Wisconsin students aren't.

I'm not "proud" of it, but I really don't think it's a big deal. I thought it was fun when I was younger, and now I just don't think anything of it.
