Sorry, thats a dumb take. Waller had to go to the ball not the defender otherwise it becomes an unwatchable ball. The ref missed the call period, it had nothing to do with Wallers play.

Imo if he stops and jumps straight up he still gets his jags on the ball and the call gets made

But you're 100% correct on that it was a foul either way. That's a given. But refs are typically looking for a rain not to throw that flag and when the criteria for PI is that " it needs to directly impact your ability to make the catch" then i think you need to make it clear that it did. Thats all im saying

I think we've seen QBs, WRs, OTs and Offensive coaching getting valued and paid like they should and as such the pendulum has swung back towards the middle as its a bit easier to build a defense now than it used to be. Easier to get a good D Coordinator. Easier to get dline talent. Certainly easier to get linebackers.
