Week 1 is in the book...we had our positives and negatives, now it’s on to Week 2 with hopes we improve in all aspects of our game.
Our opponent this week is the Western Carolina Catamounts with the game to be played at 1:30 PM EST at Lane Stadium. For those who cannot make the trip, the game will be aired on ESPN 3 (Those of us in the DC Area will hope that Comcast picks up the broadcast).
Last week Western Carolina lost to Mid Tennessee 45-24 with MT putting up 21 points on them in the first quarter. With the score being 31-3 at one point in the second quarter. It appears the WC was able to execute a few long pass plays for TDs, and their defense might have tendencies to give up big plays.
Aspects of our game we need to improve this week:
- Special Teams - Certain starters have asked to play on ST's moving forward.
- Receivers - I like this group of kids, and I feel they will continue to grow as a unit...we were blessed a few years back with some great experienced receivers now we need the younger guys to step up and continue the tradition.
- O-line: Continue to grow as a unit and control the line of scrimmage.
- QB: Work with the receivers and you will improve as well...let’s get out and run a little bit more too.
- RB: Continue to improve and hope JC comes back this week.
- Defense: Continue to grow as a unit and control the line of scrimmage.
Let’s Go Hokies!
