I think we all agree to let Manning do his thing out of the gun, right

OC I said we would win this game because we would run it all game ..I thought Kubiak would play for the win and not worry about trying to fix the team for playoffs ..I was wrong he stayed true to form ..Glad Kubiak is not stubborn as fox at least .. Still if were me I would of started this game in the Gun .

Oh iknowftbll one last comment about Matt V. He told me he thought the Chiefs OL could handle the Broncos pass rush no problem. He kept saying look at the Texans as they are supposed to have a great Front-7 and we handled them with very little problem. I said well Ravens fans were bragging about their OL before playing us as well about how they were a top OL last year and look what we did to them. I'm thinking about writing him asking how that Chiefs OL looked? He'll probably come back with something like "Charles had a big game running against it so I think they did fine." He is probably my favorite writer to pick on

I remember him commenting on their O=line with other posters too. And alleging the Ravens ineptness on offense made the Broncos D look better than they really were. Forcing 5 turnovers makes them look pretty impressive in my estimation. I'm sure Matt V would say "those were the Chiefs mistakes more than the Broncos D stepping up" or something lame like that. Forget that Phillips scouted specifically Charles carrying technique. Forget the athleticism of that Talib pick. Forget getting pressure on Smith and hitting his arm forcing the Harris pick. Damn, I can't even remember what the 5th turnover was there were so many of them! Sometimes turnovers genuinely are gifted to an opponent. But that was not the case for the 4 I just described. You will not ever hear the likes of Matt V acknowledge the Broncos are the better team, though. He predicted the Broncos would miss the playoffs. I usually don't follow up with comments after a win, but I'll be contacting him the day the Broncos clinch their playoff spot.

Another fun fact is that Manning has as many touchdown passes thrown @Arrowhead Stadium as Alex Smith does in his career. Manning in 8 games has 23 touchdowns and Smith in 18 games has 23 touchdown passes.

The whole Maclin changes the Chiefs offense where the WR's will become more involved is showing to be just a load of crap. The Chiefs tried to blame Bowe and just not having talent at the WR position but spending huge money on Maclin they are still doing pretty much what they have always done with the WR. Smith only targeted a WR 10 times the entire game. You take away the long pass to Maclin and I think he has under 20 yards passing to a WR in that game.

The Broncos spent the entire 3 days getting ready for this game by pumping in ridiculous crowd noise to try and simulate how the game would be. It obviously paid off as the team has 0 presnap penalties in this game. This to me is just another showing of the difference in coaching staff. On the defensive side of the ball we are seeing pretty much the same team as last year yet this defense looks poised to finish top-2 or 3 in the NFL in pretty much every category. Wade Phillips is showing he knows how to use this talent. Now we see with this of preparing especially these young guys on offense for the crowd noise just how much having a great coaching staff can change the outcome of a game.
That's because they have a QB in Smith who is deathly afraid to throw further than 20 yards. Many KC fans don't want to accept that fact.

Manning in his post game interview seemed almost giddy with that win. You could tell it was a special win to him and a lot of the rest of the team. I like what we've seen from this team. It's not perfect. They haven't blown out either opponent, but the way they've won is indicative of a tough team that is going to be extremely dangerous if they get to hitting on even just 7/8 of their cylinders!

you don't wanna know that...:L

but hey, the better team won imo so congrats there. just goes to show you simply CANNOT give the rock away(ESPECIALLY that often) and expect to win. that and Andy Reid CLEARLY outsmarting himself didn't help matters either...

back to the drawing board i guess...

Damn CL, I'm glad my team wasn't the one on the wrong end of that score. That's gotta hurt.

That's a tough loss to swallow, but the Chiefs are still a good football team. That defense could be Top 5 imo. The Chiefs look like a team that could be in the playoffs for sure.

^ most of the Chiefs fans here are good guys, at least on these boards. So good it's not any fun to bust their chops after a win.

Yeah, I haven't heard too many Chiefs fans on these boards, but I remember the ones on the CBS boards. They were terrible. Anyone remember "nigerian nite"?

BTW, this morning there were a couple of 30 for 30's, on Christian Okoye and Derrick Thomas. Nice of ESPN to offer a little salve to Chiefs fans for their wounds.

Over on kffl we had some decent raider fans back in the day, but chiefs fans were almost always obnoxious, save one or two.

I definitely remember some VERY obnoxious Raiders fans on my old AOL sports board. they got humbled in a MAJOR way when Tampa Bay and their old coach Jon Gruden destroyed them in the Super Bowl...

I definitely wish there was more fans for our 3 rivals in the division on this board. Makes it hard to get any kind of trash talk going when there are so few. I do have a Raider fan on their board that is quite entertaining as he is about the biggest homer I have ever met. Pretty much every year that I have been on boards he has predicted the Raiders pretty much to be Super Bowl bound to then see them finish in the bottom 5 of the league. And of course he informs me every year the Broncos are in for a rude awakening and well so far that hasn't happened either.

Anyway CL67 you know you are welcome any time on this board. Always appreciated your posting on this board. If only we could get you to join the good side of the rivalry then join us on this board cheering on a team heading for a legendary season

I'm fond of telling Raider fans - that no puppy ever born in the year they last went the Super Bowl - is still alive.

The worst thing about nigerian nite was all the "nite" he threw in his homer/trolling posts.

"The chiefs nite are going to destroy nite the broncos nite. Jamaal Charles is nite putting up 150 nites nite."

I don't know if he thought saying nite enough would reincarnate Okoye's career.

Steve Atwater - destroyed - OKoye's career and mystique with one tackle - hard to top that in NFL annals.
