I don't think the skins are ready for the steelers . I hate to say it but we are a mistake prone team looking at preseason overall and I have little faith in a better run defense and a injured subpar running game on national TV
This will have to be a show me game
IF we beat the Steelers all of the NFL world will be jumping on the Skins bandwagon. It should happen they have a lot of players out for the game. We only have to stop AB. Easier said than done but we definitely have the talent to do it. IF we did win this game the schedule looks very easy expect at NYG and Cincy in London before the bye. So a 7-1 or 6-2 start is not out of the question.
Love the optimism but pump the brakes a little. Granted the 1st half of the season is the easier part for the Redskins (the 2nd half is brutal). However - I think that you might be going a bit overboard calling it "very easy". First of all none of us really know how any of these teams will actually fare this season & preseason is really not a good indicator.
Beyond that I would not call games at Baltimore & Detroit "very easy". Winnable? Yes but also games where losing is very possible. Cowboys? Who knows? Regardless of the QB they sill have the best O-line in football & some major offensive weapons - we will see. I would also not take anything for granted with the Eagles regardless of the QB. I would be very cautious about looking too far ahead in the schedule.
I'm surprised at how much people seem to expect us to lose this game. I really feel it's a toss up. First of all its at home and second of all I don't think Pittsburgh is that great. I think we should be able to score pretty well. Meanwhile they're without Martavis Bryant and LeVeon Bell. Big Ben and AB are always scary and DWill will keep their running game going but this isn't the Patriots. They're a solid team but the type I would expect we can be very competitive with this year.
I agree we are getting no love this year. When we beat the Steelers then everyone else will be jumping on our band wagon.

Truthfully, I'm more concerned about stopping WAS than scoring on WAS...the Garcon/Djax/Reed combination scares me...the Steeler secondary should be better this year, but until I see it in real games, I don't know it.
In either case it's only week 1, hope no major injuries for either side.
We live & die at the hands of Big Ben...So you are not worried about Norman or Breeland? You mention the Redskins depth at Wr and TE. Besides AB who do the Steelers really have to score all these points?

If Ben is on point with his A game, then you'll hear & see some names dancing in the endzone that you've probably never heard of. Ben is a master of his progressions and he spreads the ball around very well. They can double AB all they want. That'll open up the seams for Wheaton, Rogers, & James. Don't discount DHB either.
