I hear ya, but at the same time, it's good for Odor to get some rest. Perhaps more importantly, I really don't want to see Profar being utilized as a DH. He needs to be in the field as much as possible IMO.

Better at DH than not at all IMO, and better him than Fielder

Profar is playing tonight and I still rather see Prince on the bench.

kinda wonder when push comes to shove and if there is inner struggles on the topic.
How long must we insist on putting 24M in the line up? I'm guessing nightly as long as this team continues to win at this pace

Yeah, I just don't want to see Profar being used as a DH and the Rangers/us trying to translate this into "playing time" was my point. The point I was trying to make anyway. How'd I do? ha ha

At least with this lineup we've got both Mitch & Prince hitting somewhere other than 3rd/4th. Although MM does seem to be getting on the ball somewhat better.

Frankly, the way this team is playing and with the baseball Gods smiling down on us, we can't seem to do so much wrong these days really.

18M, but your point is no less valid. Within the bolded lies your answer.

Profar has played quit a bit actually. He played all infield positions and dh and I think that is the best and only options now. His time is coming and soon I hope. JD must be wheeling and dealing now. As many ways we use Profar is far more credible than Prince and if we keep winning without Prince the better.

Seemed like I read yesterday that Profar over the past 5 games, has played the field once, and PH in another one. Maybe wrong, but I swear I heard/read that.

And if this is correct, I don't think in the long run, this is best for him or us. I want to see him with leather on his right hand at least 2+ outta five either at 2nd/SS/3rd, and another game or so at DH, and/or PH, PR and stays in the game.

Bottom line: gotta give him PT.

Left out....1st

18M?
shoot....that's good news to me and a little easier to trade if you pick up 3/4 of the salary.
It just seems the only way cause as long as he's here, Banny and company are going to play the guy at someone's expense.

I agree but then again that is our mgr not using him wisely.

That's true. Didn't play Thu or Fri, played Sat, PH Sun, didn't play Mon.

DT....we're kicking some big time butt and I ain't going there about "our mgr." ha ha ha

Even if ESPN doesn't know, the teams/FO/players/Mgrs/etc know's it around ML baseball....And they want nothing to do with us right now. None of them. ha

Ain't it GREAT? Seriously, and I know we've won 9 straight series and all (team record). But do you EVER remember us being able to not just win, but win by "any means necessary" like this?

Holy smokes...look at last night. The BP went what, 4.1/4.2 and didn't surrender one run.

I was not able to log on and chat with you guys but I watched the game last night. That AB by Wilson was a thing of beauty. The one by Odor after Prince walked on 5 pitches and Odor was at 2-0 and swung at a breaking pitch that hit in front of the plate was another thing.

You kind of sound pessimistic. Are ya?

I've said for years I don't think Yu resigns here. And if I'm right, it's going to be real interesting to see how JD & Co handle him for the rest of this season, and how they approach this off-season/2017.

Could you elaborate? I haven't heard anything to suggest Yu doesn't like playing for the Rangers. I know the Yankees will have some big contracts coming off the books the next year and a half. They would probably be the biggest threat, I don't see the Dodgers trying to sign him with what they have already.

3 games in an NL stadium, one less position available in the lineup, means not a lot of play for Profar, I would've played Moreland all 3 games at 1B if it were me though

Rangers' Derek Holland: Gives up three runs in no-decision against Orioles
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Holland lasted just 4.1 innings and allowed three runs on nine hits and two walks with four strikeouts in a no-decision Monday against Baltimore.

Holland has lasted five innings or fewer in each of his past three starts and has watched his ERA balloon from 4.53 to 5.20 as a result. He has just 43 strikeouts in 72.2 innings and his inability to miss bats, particularly with runners on base, has been punished all season long. Holland has struck out more than four batters in just three of his 14 starts this year.

Yikes that terrible.

The next 2 years are option years for Holland, 11 million in 2017 (11.5 in 2018), but the buyout s 1.5 million this year.... Is it time to cut bait with Holland?

Depends if he produces. However, I think JD is looking hard at the buyout option. Hopefully the A's pick him up.

A cool way to save 21 mil and change.

He's already earned the relatively modest 5 year contract for 28.5 million, its simply an issue of whether or not they feel like he's worth 22.5/2 or should they pay him 1.5 to go away
