But yes -- they need to sweep this series in order to keep the streak alive. Oh, and if they can't find a way to get Profar in to the lineup 4-5 times a week, he needs to be sent down.

Last 5 games -- he's started 1 and pinch hit in one. That amount needs to be higher. IMO

They also just played 3 in a NL park.

Yeah, bring up the cheerleader to sit the bench. Profar needs work more than bench time.

I have no idea why I thought this next BoSox series was the one right before the ASB. I have no concept of sports time right now. Right after I wrote that I thought "that must mean we are getting Kela back this weekend or next" and our BP would get some help.

Outside the big 2; Dyson and Diekman (Bush has been ok versus LHHs), we don't have anyone that reliably gets out LHHs, so another LHP in the pen would be nice...

Ryan Buchter (Padres), Boone Logan (Rockies), Fernando Abad (Twins), Hunter Cervenka (Braves), and maybe Zach Duke (ChiSox) would be guys that have been effective against LHHs so far this year, are on non-contending teams (as of now), not long term building blocks, won't require much in terms of trade, and are not on a divisional opponent's team

It's a very long shot but I keep hoping Cotts might find what he once had and be of some use and any one of the above will certainly be of value. We are getting close to having the BP we thought we had.

I have little faith in Cotts, but it would be nice if he was able to help, it would probably save us from a trade

It's the minors, looking at what he's done at the ML level over the last couple seasons, it doesn't inspire confidence for me (3.88 ERA, 1.3 WHIP)

His AAA ERA between 2 teams this year is 3.85... I don't see the excitement

If I recall he had a pretty good downturn before kicking ass with the Rangers.

He's had 2 good seasons in 10 years of pitching (2005 & 2013) and 2015 is the only other season he's posted an ERA below 4.00 @ 3.41, but I'd hardly call that good, useful maybe

I mentioned that yesterday similar to Frasor. I thought it was you and I who thought both these guys were worth more than several others. May be wrong here but that's what comes to mind. Any way they were.

I'm certainly not making my bets that the ghost of Neal Cotts in 2013 makes an appearance anytime soon

He was signed to a MiL contract. If we bring him up and put him on the 40 man roster it will most likely be to backfill a DL stint by a player on the 40 man.

Not unless that DL stint is a 60 day DL stint, 15 day DL guys still count on the 40 man roster
