Ruh Roh…..time for Bammers and Barners to shut the fuck up.

Corndogs......shuuuuusshhhh!!!

Aggies.....you got Jimbo Fisher. He left FSU in shambles. He can't be trusted.

Sorry OM, MissSt, and Ark...…..y'all don't even count.

The pendulum swings. Same as always.

Georgia football power helping lift SEC East over SEC West

HOOVER, Ala. — The SEC East Division might collectively be better than the West, but perception can be slow to change.

Especially with Alabama’s recent run of championship success.

But even with the Tide’s 35-28 comeback win over Georgia in the SEC Championship Game last season, the East still held a 9-6 advantage in head-to-head games.

“It might be the first time going into the season where you could make a case that the East is stronger than the West in some ways, “ SEC analyst and former Alabama QB Greg McElroy said.

“Maybe they don’t have as many championship contenders because we all feel so strongly about Georgia, but I would say one through seven, you could make a case that it’s better than all seven teams (in the West), or better than the one through seven, the collection of those teams, in the West.”

Alabama is still the best team in the conference. Nothing else will really matter.

McElroy needs to stop drinking with Finebaum. I think the guy knows his stuff but that is a really hot take.

I guess you can make an argument based on wins but Kentucky is hardly a 10 win team on the regular.
and if you take the bottom Arkansas pulls the West down.

Ehh, the SEC East got some wins versus lower tier West teams last season. The Top 3 teams in the SEC West (Alabama,LSU and TAMU) went 6-2 versus the East last season including 2-0 versus Georgia.

Let's wait until we are done with the season before we make this call. The Divisions are probably more balance than the experts give it credit. SEC East is hurt by Kentucky and Vandy not being traditional football powers and Tennessee's decline.

The West has Ole Miss and Miss State to traditionally counter-balance Kentucky and Vandy but both have been better the last 10-12 years. Arkansas is another team in the West that traditionally struggles.

If you go all-time, the SEC has a BIG 6 in their top tier: Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, and Tennessee. These 6 programs all are in the top 15-20 all-time and they are evenly split among both divisions.

The next tier includes Arkansas, Missouri, South Carolina, and Texas A&M. These programs are not traditional national title contenders but are usually competitive.

Ole Miss, Miss State, Vandy, and Kentucky are the bottom tier. Ole Miss has an argument to be in the tier above due to 1 National Title and the Manning eras.

As stated 2 factors have broken this equation to allow the SEC West to be better over the past couple of decades:

1. The heavy struggles of Tennessee and to a lesser degree Florida
2. Ole Miss and Miss State being better than average on most occasions

The one item that stands out in the article is that Kentucky and Vandy had unusual good years against the West last year. That is the only reason the SEC East had a better record.

This is depressing. Under Nutt we could count on beating the Mississippi schools at least 2/3 years. After 2011 we had finished ranked in the top 10 in 3 of the past 6 years.

Been 8 years since we’ve beaten A&M too and they’ve cut our all-time series lead to 10 games. Hope we can get things turned around soon.
