Sigh. One week earlier than I expected but here we are.

Who will be new DC ? (I'm assuming eds fired. No official word)

Draft: only 4 picks but saw we're expecting to get 2 6th round comp picks.

Can we get 2nd wr?

Vets I don't expect back:
Kendricks.
Thielen.
Hicks.
Dalvin cook.

Not sure they bring back Peterson either.

The defense is so bad, I don't think it can be fixed in time for next season.

Not a single untouchable on that squad.

I think they should be able to get it out of 31st

If they can get it to 20th range it'll be a huge improvement

I've thought a bit more, we should also be ditching Zdarius smith. He had a great first 8 games, but than injuries took over and he's going to be 31. Thanks for the memories

Hunter is impossible to let go, his cap hit increases if he's cut

I get it's a player issue too, but we need to start from top. I'll be highly disappointed if KOC doesn't make move on Ed

Wouldn't be surprised either way on Thielen. On one hand, it's hard to imagine him playing anywhere else. On the other hand, the NFL is a business, and it sounds like Thielen feels undervalued lately based on what his wife said. Which I honestly couldn't blame him for, because I think they've been way underutilizing him for a couple years now.

He's 32, his ability to get separation is non existent at this point.

If he's back, it's as a 3rd/4th wr and sounds like he doesn't want that. So, business side, time to move on

Thielen is a top 10 viking WR of all time, if he wants to hang on as back up for another season, great. If he thinks he should be getting some balls thrown his way instead of TJ or especially JJ, sorry.

Honestly, although he probably wouldn't go for it, I think Thielen would make a stud of a slot WR, and probably be pretty effective of role well for a couple more years. Kind of like Wes Welker back in the day. Opposing defenses might not worry too much about putting their #2 CB on Thielen these days, but most #3 CB's would have a very tough time against him. Too bad I wouldn't trust the Vikings brass to even come up with an idea like that, though.

One last bit about Thielen, now that I've had more time to ponder the matter.

He would be wise to take a paycut and just stay with the team for another year or two. He'll still be making great money for playing a sport for a living, and he's probably not gonna get paid better anywhere else regardless. Doubt he'd get much more attention on the field from another team, either. So imo, he'd be silly to leave unless a team closer to contending for a Superbowl run wants to offer him a roster spot, but the Vikings are right in the thick of things in that regard too.

Also, I'm already sick of seeing stories about his wife nagging him to leave the Vikings. Seems like she has more to do with him wanting to leave than anything. She's delusional if she thinks Thielen is likely to find a better situation when he's been less productive the last couple years, plus will be 33 at the start of the new season. Dude should really just go the Chad Greenway route and stay here until he retires as a hometown hero who never bailed on the team.

This sub-forum sucks. Almost nothing but occasional circle jerking between like 3 different users for the past 5+ years, never any real discussions about anything.

I've seen some Trey Lance rumors, I'm not all that interested, thought SF made a mistake trading up for him, but if price is right, I wouldn't mind a flier

Phil Makey floated getting Lance and draft capital for Hunter, I wouldn't hate that

Niners definitely bought high on lance and selling low

Sounds like the Vikes DC hunt isn't going very well. With everyone dropping out, Pettine is moving to the top of the list.

I'm mildly surprised it appears to have actually gone well
