Obviously you have hater bias on him. Clearly you're not going to change your mind, so I'll say one last thing before I leave it: when I met Percy in person he seemed completely dedicated to his fans, when I saw him play for the Gators and the Vikings he left it all on the field. If demanding the team use him or, if they're unwilling to do so, release him to find a team that will use him counts as "flat out quitting" to you...well, you're entitled to your opinion.

In other news, DeMarcus Love is suspended for 4 games for violating the league's substance abuse policy...I think someone is about to get cut...

I dont hate Harvin, but I agree, Im glad Spielman made the deal. We got a starting corner, possibly a backup OG, the cap space to sign Jennings, and a mid-rounder (Im thinking 5th at this point) next year out of it.

When a player comes to the sidelines and ignores the coach as he is trying to talk to him, its time to dump the player.

I'm not saying it was a bad deal. I'm saying Harvin got upset because he wasn't being used, and he did NOT quit on the team or go off like Steve Smith, Randy Moss, or a thousand other locker room cancers I could easily mention.

Also feeling horrible for the 49ers right now - their CB Chris Culliver tore his ACL and is out for the season...is it just me or is this one hell of an injury-plagued preseason?

I mean no offense but anyone who thinks Percy is a good guy is blind to the things hes done in his life. Getting kicked out of "sports" in Virginia, choking a coach at Fla, disrespecting both of his head coaches in the NFL. He's a POS and i'm glad he's gone.

Sorry, but yes. I never celebrate any players being hurt...

I do however agree with this, I would never wish injury on any player. Let's show a little Mercy for Percy, he may be a cancer but I never like to see anyone hurt, unless of course he plays for the Tigers :laugh3:

Thank you. The guy is an ass and a selfish prick.

I loved seeing him gone.

Usually obviously you don't like see a player hurt. But it was more one of those "Heck yeah, we sold high on a injury prone jackass whose more about himself" and it really worked.

One last note on Percy. The Vikes played all in all better without him last year than with him.

The whole league seems to go in waves where some years players drop like flies all across the NFL. Last year was one where a lot of players got hurt as well. Personally, I blame the turf. They need to make a rule in the NFL that they play ONLY on grass. My .02. Would probably cut down on the concussions as well.

Randy Moss had his troubles. Keith Millard. Tommy Kramer. As long as you strap it up on Sunday and deliver TDs, sacks, yards... no one will say anything. But complain about contracts, be out for injury, be "iffy" for games.. the fans will turn on you. Harvin was electrifying. But he came at a cost we could not continue to afford. Too many missed games. We trade him and the first news we hear is that he will miss 16 more, probably. How can that not be a good trade? Spielman has made all the right moves. And I used to go to every game at the Met in the 1970s. Snowmobile suits and hot chocolate.. and scream all you want..

Does astroturf really cause injuries? I've never touched the stuff, but I managed to sprain, twist, and break plenty of body parts on grass fields playing soccer and lacrosse.

Its probably no harder on ankles and knees than grass, but I got to believe that it causes more concussions.

Artificial Turf: Does it Increase the Risk of Sports Injuries? - HSS.edu - Hospital for Special Surgery, New York

Nice read. I have to say, that must be a badass job - working with football players and trainers to understand injuries and test to see what might be better. But since our new stadium is supposed to have so many events going on, do we really want natural grass? Because I believe there's going to be baseball played there too...imagine baseball 3 days a week, and then a football game on top of that. Shit wreaks havoc on grass.

IMO, Percy was told to sit the remainder of last season. I feel that Frazier and Speillman decided to sit him because they were sick of his shit.
He was fun to watch for sure, but he threw weights at Chilli, was seen screaming on the sidelines at Frazier, it was definitely time to be rid of him. And look how it turned out...

I always forget about Simpson. Haven't seen much out of him but hope we start to. In a real game that is.

Nice toss by Ponder too. I hear they are trying to gear him this year as more of a mobile QB. :noidea:

So glad to have Blair. :yahoo:

I want Ponder to get comfortable in the pocket. It's great he can run, but he has got to establish a rapport with the o-line.

Walsh is a keeper, as much as I hate saying that about a Georgia alum :L

You won't this season, he should have a great year.
With Jennings and patterson getting covered by #'s 1 and 2 db's, Simpson will garner the #3 or #2 db's(at best) attention, that can only bode well for him. He may not be a good enough WR to break coverage on the best DB on the defense, but I feel pretty comfortable with him againts the lesser coverage.
