Maye being the first QB taken is gathering a lot of steam, if he goes #1 and we are sitting at 3, what are you doing?

At this point best OT or Harrison. IMO

If we pick 3rd, Maye is gone one pick before and Harrison is gone 2 picks before.

I then say Alt and then trade up for JJ McCarthy or double dip on Oline.

There is a WR Franklin out Oregon I think is a nice fit and we could land in round three. I would be okay with.

RD 1 OT
RD 2 QB or WR Best available
RD 3 WR or QB Best available

Depending on what Bill/Robert spends the money on in FA.
1) My first would be Evans.
2) I don't know who the better Oline FA's are, but go all in. Don't Frickin wait to see who's left after the first week.
3) Get a vet. I'd take Mayfield and send Jones and Zappe down the road.

Then go draft. If Jr falls to 3, take him. If Jr does not and Maye does, Take him.

I think Maye will be a really good QB, maybe great. I think Harrison Jr will be a great WR, maybe generational, and another really good QB will come along.

I think the O line FA options are very limited this year. Evans would be a good pick up, and I like the idea of Higgins. For a QB I dunno Mayfield is a bit of an anomaly to me.

What's interesting to me is a lot people feel the Pats need to pick up another rush end and there are a lot in FA this year. That would eliminate havin to address that in the draft.

Available OTs are all 30 or older. The youngest is Donovan Smith LT KC. Salary in 2023 = $3,000,000.

I'd offer Smith 3years/$21M with $15M guaranteed.
I'd Offer Germain Ifedi RT BUF 3/ $24 $15M guaranteed

I'd go all-in on both Evans and Tee Higgins. If they both cost $20M, Patriots still have $45M in Cap space.

Re-sign Dugger ($15M), Owenu ($8M),

Still have $22M

Rock-Ya Sin CB BAL ($15)

Now Draft the best QB available at wherever they sit. 3, 4, 5 it doesn't matter.

Right now, the Patriots are at #4. Bears at #1 will be in a serious quandry. Harrison or a QB? According to reports, they will be trying to sell Justin Fields. If they do they will take Caleb Williams.

Arizona at #2 will take Harrison to give Murray a real target.

Giants at #3 will take Maye. Jones is not going to be there and Dabol may be replaced.

Patriots at #4 will have choice between Jaden Daniels (LSU) or Mike Penix (WASH) or any other up and comer.

If the Patriots could pull off the free agent buying spree above, either one of these kids will flourish behind a solid OL, with real targets to shoot at.

Is Higgins a FA this year?

Is there a trade partner with two first rounders (not saying we trade just for those, but it's a good start). We need a lot of upgrades.

I watched Maye play against an unranked Clemson team yesterday.
Clemson spanked NC - mainly because of a poor defensive effort.
Maye was not bad but not a world-beater.
Small sample size but he did not look like a #1 overall pick in NC's 3rd loss.

I’m a Tarheels fan. I’ve watched several of his games. He’s a very GOOD QB. I just don’t see him as a “Once in a Generation Guy “. If we are going all in for a QB this year, I’d trade back a few slots and draft any one of McCarthy Nix Daniels or Penix. Use the pick/picks we acquired and draft OLineman and WR’s. That Daniels from LSU is growing on me. 14 TD’s in his last 2 games.

I'm getti g uncomfortable.
The draft is looking a lot like the draft the year Mac came out.
Lots of uncertainty. Scary to think we could whif!

How the hell are you a Tarheels fan?

When I started watching college basketball(early 80’s) I fell in love with Worthy..Jordan..Perkins..Kenny Smith..Brad Daugherty..

And Carolina Blue is without a doubt my favorite color!

I lived in NC from 1993 to 2010. I am rather fond of NC State Wolfpack Red.
When I first traveled south to Georgia, My red pickup was a sex symbol!

I watched four of the top QBs yesterday. Or should i say watched parts of their games.

Williams looked pedestrian at best.
Penix had six of his passes just plain dropped. Couldn't blame him for the drops in the rain He threw at least two unnecessary lasers that 98% of all WRs could not have caught.
Maye just couldn't do anything to get that offense moving
Bo Nix of Oregon has caught my eye. After struggling for three years at LSU he transferred to Oregon is really lighting it up.

Two guys I didn't see were Jyden Daniels and Quinn Ewe (Texas)

Truth be told, the CFP will show us what these guys can do under the pressure and bright lights of the College Playoffs, if they actually get in.

Right now, Florida St vs Georgia, Washinton vs Ohio St. If it stays this way, Penix will be the only QB able to go for the title. Playing against OSU will test everything he's got.

The others will be in meaningless bowl games trying not to get hurt before the NFL Draft.
