Vegas opening odds for next season's (2019-2020) national champion:

+180: Clemson

+250: Alabama

12-1: Ohio State, Georgia

14-1: Michigan

15-1: Oklahoma

20-1: Texas

25-1: Nebraska, Washington, Florida, Notre Dame

30-1: Oregon

50-1: Wisconsin, LSU, Mississippi State, Auburn

80-1: Miami, Utah, USC, Texas A&M

100-1: Virginia Tech, Penn State, Iowa, Florida State

200-1: Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Michigan State, Purdue, Washington State, Stanford, Arizona, UCLA, TCU, Baylor, Syracuse, Northwestern

I'm not gonna list the rest of the teams below 200-1, because there are too many of them, but the highest G5 teams, including UCF, are 500-1.

----

So, what do you think? Which of these bets have the worst value? Which have the best value? Vote in the poll, and leave a comment explaining why! The poll closes with September around the beginning of the next season, so vote before then!

I think Texas 20-1 and Florida 25-1 have the most potential upside from a money standpoint.

You're safer with Bama or Clemson but it doesn't pay.

Michigan and Oklahoma seem like fan sucker bets.

Best long shots LSU, Wisconsin or Auburn.

I'd be floored if anyone else got in other than the ones mentioned above.

PS: Poll fail no potatoes salad and no way to really answer you question with it anyway.

Taking Texas is flushing money down the toilet. One meaningless bowl win doesn’t mean they are anything more than a perennial 4+-loss team.

They just have to get lucky twice a year and they run their schedule. Toughest games next year are LSU (catch them early) and OU. They end up playing a PAC team in the playoff and Bam they are in the final.

That's a lot of faith in Scott Frost for a big turnaround for Nebraska to have those odds.

UGA odds are enticing. They got the talent and the QB. Just have to hope Kirby doesn't fuck it up.

If the QB spot doesn't take a dip, I like OSU's 12-1 odds. A lot will also ride on the defensive coaching staff coming through. The talent is unquestionably there though.

They haven’t been that lucky this decade. Given Herman’s track record, it’s the WTF games rather than the supposed marquee ones that sink his battleship.

Maryland? TWICE? W? T? F?

I think you are confused. I’m not saying it will happen, I’m just saying it’s a better money play because of the odds.

Two different arguments.

Bama isn't the favorite? There's your best value.
