I really don't think it will take that long before Petersen is getting most of those to stay home. If baker was coming out next year this might be a whole different critter.

Again, I'm not expecting a top20 class this year. When you are left with four commits from previous coach and have less then 2 months to put a class together, expectations need to be adjusted. We could still get a few pleasant surprises in Jan. But this is a class that can't be judged fully on stars and PAC centric ratings.

I'm sure years from now, we'll see some of the names from this class playing as Jrs and Srs and contributing well.

Just have wait to get the next guy up from Bellevue.

Luckily for the Huskies we already have a lot of younger talent on the team.

Washington currently has two other 4 star high school prospects. OT Kaleb McGary of Fife HS and DT Marcus Griffin of Bellevue HS. Anyone know what the status is on these guys?

Looks like neither have completed their visits. Griffin had an in-home from Leach and is said to have been very impressed. A few sites have WSU as the leader, but he hasn't really seen anybody else yet so who knows. McGary is said to be interested in wisky, oregon state, WSU, and UW and has done official visits with all but UW. Tosh is the one recruiting him so who knows how much this situation puts a monkey wrench in that possibility. He too was said to be high on the cougs. Leach is really picking up the recruiting. Might see them going back to Price era levels. They already have 18 kids in their class and one 4 star so far and it looks like they are on the board for several more big fish.

McGary said he's a heavy lean to Oregon St. beacuse they have an agriculture program, which UW doesn't.

Griffen is all over the radar with WSU and Cal still perusing him. UW could still be involved, but I think both of them aren't announcing till January.

Great local get by Petersen. Didn't get an offer from Sark, but gets one from Petersen and jumps at it as he says he's been a Husky fan his entire life.

TE Drew Sample (Newport, WA) has announced today that he decommitted from BSU and will be committing to Washington.

Looks like we're set for TE and S for this class, so can concentrate on other spots. Progress!

Huh, that's kinda of a shocker, Pullman has alot of "heffer's " roaming around...

Convenient for WSU they have a research dept dealing with the transmission of diseases from animals to humans. Comes in handy out there with all the :hdn: going down.

All the livestock in that village are nervous tonight after today's epic Coug'd it.

And I wonder if the cougs epic melt down today will have any impact on those 4 star kids that were looking at them. Would you want to be on a team that coug'd it in their first bowl game in 10 years? :noidea:

I don't think so. I also think WSU has a long way to go before we have to worry about them taking the best in state talent away from us. UCLA, USC, and Uncle Phil's wallet. That's who we need to go to war with to keep our local 4 and 5s for the years to come. Sark talking about putting up the wall was all lip service. Petersen will put up the wall. No lip service.

:agree:

I think Petersen will actually "put the fence up" this will keep alot of the state kids to stay home.

I was talking specifically about griffin not generically about top state talent. He was impressed with his visit with Leach, but will he still be stoked to join them if UW can win their bowl after WSU put up one of the worst choke jobs in modern history?

And while you all may not believe WSU is any threat to take talent, I'd say they always have taken at least a few here and there. Mainly kids from the east side of the state or otherwise who have ties to the school, but they don't exclusively simply get our leftovers. Part of rooting against your rivals is looking to cash in on their misfortunes in the recruiting game.

Well when that day comes, ( and its gonna come soon) that will be a good thing cause the power of the Pac 12 will have shifted to the state of Washington....

So it's reported that in continuing with Sarks pledge that we will reap the rewards from his work, he proceeded to invite UW commit Jalen Greene to the Las Vegas bowl and flipped him to USC.

Thanks Sark. Feel the reap.

DT Marcus Griffin says that UW has reaffirmed their offer to him.

DE Shane Bowman, who also plays for Bellevue, has been offered by UW. Bowman is currently committed to Oregon State. He's got visits scheduled for January so possible a final decision isn't made till close to LOI.

Huskies get recruiting commitment from John Turner, a 6-foot-4, 270-pound offensive lineman

He is the fourth known commitment to new UW coach Chris Petersen.

Turner chose UW over Colorado. He told 247sports.com that UW was his top choice from the beginning.

“I just love the fans. I think that’s something I wouldn’t get tired of,” Turner told Dawgman.com. “I went up there for their game against Washington State and the atmosphere there was amazing.

“I also love the academics. I wanted to get a meaningful degree to succeed after football because unfortunately, at some point, you have to stop playing. I want to study business and their business school is top-notch.”

A 2 star on at least one site. Not sure how excited we should be, but it's a body and they play line so. :noidea:
