Nice pull by Petersen to land Richey. I read somewhere he was looking at schools like Yale, Penn, Cal etc. Obvious that education is #1 for him and good to see UW land a quality kid like that who actually wants to use football as a way to get a world class education.

Jaimie Bryant is on Washington’s radar once again.

The defensive tackle from Tumwater, one of the first recruits to commit to the Huskies’ Class of 2013, has been in limbo for most of the past year.

Bryant had agreed to grayshirt — that is, not sign a letter of intent and delay his enrollment for a year — with UW’s previous coaching staff, but there was uncertainty about his status during the transition to Chris Petersen’s regime.

“He was kind of lost in the shuffle for a bit,” said Bryant’s mother, Leighanne Malmin. “He was just kind of … waiting.”

The wait is over.

Kicking off the final recruiting weekend before national signing day on Wednesday, Bryant and his mother will make an official visit to UW starting today.

The new UW coaching staff has told the family that Bryant’s previous scholarship offer will be honored.

“He’s excited,” Malmin said. “He doesn’t want to go anywhere else. Others have tried to contact him, but he really wants to be Husky.”

Bryant plans to enroll at UW for the spring quarter.

Linebacker Drew Lewis of Sammamish’s Eastlake High, who made a verbal commitment to Washington’s previous coaching staff last June, says he has confirmed his commitment to the Huskies this afternoon.

Lewis had also made a recruiting visit to USC earlier this month.

More details to follow.

This is the crap that pisses me off when there is a coaching change, this is a kid from the state that wants to stay home and help the local program and stuff like this is going on....

Yep,

Four-star cornerback Naijiel Hale committed to the Huskies this morning, the second four-star recruit to make a verbal pledge to UW for this class.

Hale, scheduled to be on his official visit to UW this weekend, had been a longtime commit to Arizona. He is the son of the late rap artist Nate Dogg.

4* #2 and counting. This class is going to finish strong.

Another gentle nudge to Baker to get on board and stay home. Is it enough? Guess we will find out Wednesday.

Bigtime get for huskies. Talent all over this class, but look at the attention paid to the D at the line and DBs. Looking good.

If they end up landing Baker this is one hell of a class. If Petersen can manage 3 or 4 4* kids with only a month and change, what will he do with a full year of recruiting? :yahoo:

If you are a dawg and you aren't excited as hell right now there is something wrong with you.

wow, read this on his decision to flip right now...
Scout.com: Hale commits to Washington
“He offered me as soon as he got there,” Hale said. “Boise State was my first offer when Coach Petersen was there so I know the staff really well. I know Coach Lake, the DB coach as well and had a good home visit with him and Coach Petersen recently.

“Arizona had told me they didn’t want me to take the visit this weekend and if I did, there was a good chance they would pull the offer. I had basically already decided in my head that I was going to go to Washington so I was taking this visit no matter what. I love it up here and have some strong relationships already in place so I’m thrilled to be a Dawg.”

So he was making his decision anyway, but Zona pushed him right out the door with threats. Thanks rich rod!!! WOOOF!!!!

I think at this point, got to like our chances with both Baker and McGary. Love the strong finish. Go Dawgs!!!

If he lands both this class rockets up to a top 30 for sure and probably higher.

He was one of their top commits, but RichRod took such a massive class, you knew some late flips like this could happen.

That temper of RichRods. Woooah Nelly!!!

247 has our class ranked at 47 as it sits right now. Add either of those other big dogs out there and it jumps another 10 at least. Scout has us at 40.

Looking at the rankings as the commits started happening, I was projecting somewhere in the 40s for a respectable class, but I really wanted to see us crack the 30s if we could finish really strong. Make sure the rest of the PAC notices.

Tremendous work if they pull that off. Impressive and imagine what they'll get done with an entire year.
