According to ESPN, Texas is looking at UCLA's Jim Mora to replace Mack Brown as next head coach:

The University of Texas has expressed strong interest in UCLA coach Jim Mora as a possible replacement for Mack Brown, and the two sides have had conversations, sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

UCLA coach Jim Mora is being eyed as the next coach of the Texas Longhorns, according to sources.
Mora previously coached in the NFL, most recently as head coach in Seattle and Atlanta.

He is 18-8 at UCLA.

Zero that I know about. I think it is just normal part of hte process. Texas is actually doing the right thing. They are interviewing multiple people. I still think they will talk to some of the coaches with games left. Right now they are gathering information. End of the day, most of this is BS. Very little is actually known and reports are just throwing crap against the wall to see what sticks.

I think the signs point to him being one of the 4 interviews.


We know that STRONG, FRANKLIN, and 2 others had interviews already.


There was 2 unknown people. He might be the 3rd to be confirmed is all.


I don't know if this means he is the front-runner, but it likely means that he is interested and the school granted an interview.

He could be the lead candidate for the job right now as Art Briles whose obviously UTs main candidate right now dismissed Texas rumors via twitter this morning "Contrary to reports and rumors I am a Baylor Bear - 2013 Big12 champs."

Rangers co-owner Bob Simpson says Briles also told him he was staying at Baylor the evening after the Fiesta Bowl.

But the guys at orangebloods.com are saying he will still be interviewing for the job this week.

Guess we'll find out within 2 week as UT has said they want this rapped up by Jan 15th.

None taken. I think he is a great coach and would actually be what you need. But there are a lot of really good coaches out there. I think Briles, for example, is a great coach as well and is more connected with the scene in Texas.

I would guess about 20% of Austin is from California, so I am not sure your opinion is unanimous.

Agreed. I live in OC and I wouldn't live anywhere but SoCal except DC, New Orleans or Austin. Austin is a great city.

it is amazing. Guy has thrown 9 TDs and 5 ints and 6 yards per attempt and Texas fans complain. Like bitching about not offering Case a scholarship after the RRSO.
