for instance the last time Nebraska played for anything relevant was 2001.

It's not a term used in support of teams...You can't even grasp what it means even though it was spelled out for you. If you and a group band together to attack someone on a message board. That makes you TShirt Bandwagoners. Because you can't stand on your own 2 feet and need the support of others to feel like you accomplished something.
