Great to see Azarenka fight back.

She also appeared to have the same fight, even when down 2 breaks in the first. She still competed for every point.

I think Osaka might beat Azarenka, but I'd like to see Azarenka win more, since she is older and hasn't won this yet.

I hope it's not a Medvedev vs. Zverev Mens Finals. I don't want to root for either person, if that's the case.

Serena looks fat and old. All I see left in her game is her serve and the grunting. She can’t stay in rallies anymore. The intimidation factor doesn’t work too good in an audience less stadium where her rabid fans can’t get behind her. She needs to lose fifteen pounds and fifteen years to seriously contend again I think.

She was hitting the ball solidly that first set but then it was error after error and Azarenka kept her foot on the throttle.

I was excited to see what I did from Azarenka. She played well after finding her game in the second set.

The final should be good.

I'd like to see Serena go out with one more and be done but I just don't know if she will.

She's still a force in the WTA, apparent if she is getting to the semis at the US Open...but she needs the card to fall just right for her to get that last one.

She looks ready to retire

As much as I dislike her for her on court tantrums and past rudeness, lack of sportsmanship and her hatred of lines persons and umpires I hope that she breaks the records because even getting to that stage to be able to give herself the chance of doing it is a remarkable feat.

Never liked her brand of tennis because she uses brute force and intimidation of her menacing and bloated-bodybuilder like physical stature and grunts and yells on court ( without these tactics I doubt she would have won half of her slams).

I remember in contrast how Steffi used to be on court. Didn’t have any unnecessary gestures, kept her psychological side contained and played within herself. Didn’t have homicidal thoughts ( her deranged fan might have had some) of killing anyone on the court and was a true sportsman and an ambassador of the game and handled her personal grief and setbacks quietly.

I am thinking Thiem and Osaka will win but I really am not rooting for anyone. Going to enjoy them both.

graf would own 30 slam singles titles if she had decided to continue to play into her mid 30's.

serena looks like a cartoon.

i saw one match, serena get eliminated.

this tournament looks like an absolute joke with no one within 30 feet of one another, empty stands, and everyone wearing face masks.

and then BLM gets invited to the final.

Let’s go Thiem in the final. The overrated one is more tired.

Congrats to Naomi. I like her because she plays a great game and above all her demeanor and attitude is not loud. She lets her game do the talking. Finally after Graf I think I like some other woman player.

So much for Thiem winning his first slam. Zverev is on a lucky hot roll.

I think I super jinxed Zverev. He earned my respect today and deserved to win it just as much as Thiem. It was tough to tell who was going to win it for much of the latter stages of the match. Hope they develop a good rivalry and really start beating their idols especially LOSER Nole from here on.

This ended up being a great match. I like matches where so many leads are exchanged.

However, there's also a part of me that doesn't enjoy the moments either, especially when the person I'm rooting for misses those opportunities. Just take the final set. Thiem was up a break, then lost it. Then went down a break, and got it back. Served for the match, then lost it.

Then in the tiebreaker, he was down a mini break, then went up a mini break, then lost it.

When it's this intense, there's also a part of me that doesn't enjoy it.

But I liked how both guys gave it everything they had.

@Old Lion , those men didn't hold their serves when serving for the match, which is one of your complaints about Womens Tennis.
