You do need grit, it's what wins in the playoffs. Run and gun gets shut down easily by good teams, hence why Semin and players like him are useless come playoff time.

Maybe not run and gun, but certainly more of a transition offense as opposed to a team that can control the puck down low. It's why the Lightning essentially playing the trap were able to completely shut them down. You need the big bodied grinders to get it done. Just look at the Bruins top line.
