We have signed Henry Melton to give us some experienced depth on the DL.

This is the exact guy I said a week ago should be who we bring in. This guy was quickly trending as one of the best pass rushing DT/DE's in the NFL before his ACL injury. I know he isn't quite that player anymore but I still think as a back up/rotational player he can be a guy that might surprise. Good signing in my book.

Well he seemed to be getting better last year .. best stats he has ever had .. and as a back up ..

He has had better pass rushing stats all the same he looked pretty good over all .

I was shocked he wasn't already signed by somebody. I know he isn't the highest of quality starters anymore but with teams needing that inside pass rushing threat I figured somebody would have signed him. I'm interested to see the contract that we signed him to.

At one time Melton looked on the verge of being one of the most versatile impact DL in the game. I am glad we signed him. He hasn't been the same guy he was back then, but he is still quality and in our defense he should do well. He didn't have a lot around him in Tampa.

I don't know if any of you remember him in college at Texas, but he actually played RB in college. A HUGE RB.

Kubiak today said that DeMarcus Ware will come off the NFI today and will practice tomorrow.

He also said that he expects Talib to play in the Rams game. Good news to see those two coming back to add even more depth to an already good defense.

Somewhat surprising but Kubiak has already said that Siemian will get the start against the Rams.

Says the competition is still wide open but liked what he saw from Siemian other than the interception play.

Few other notes...

Siemian did hurt his shoulder when he tried to make the tackle but is expected to practice tomorrow.

Kubiak would not commit to which QB would come in 2nd after Siemian but said all 3 will get equal time on the field for game 3.

Yup I would agree with this. The fact that they know who they want to start the game but don't know who they want behind him should show he has pulled ahead in the competition. Doesn't mean he can't still lose it but looks like he is the clear guy right now. Also huge to see that Lynch has maybe passed Sanchez at this point.

If Lynch plays behind Simian, to me anyway, it could be more of a indication that they want to see how Lynch performs vs the 1-3 depth chart instead of the 3 - to might not even make Practice Squad depth chart.

True but it really isn't a good look for Sanchez. If they are wanting a true competition between Sanchez and Siemian then they would have Sanchez coming in with the 1's to see how he does against equal competition as that of Siemian. If Lynch steps in to that #2 spot then to me that is saying that they have seen enough of Sanchez and want to see what the Rookie can do and see if he can step into that #2 spot and be ready if Siemian is injured or stinks up the joint.
