Since this season is already circling the bowl, may as well make room for Weber and or Suter now.

I say go after a vet d-man w/ an expiring contract. Then after the season let Carle walk and then do everything you can to get Suter. (I prefer Weber but I don't think he will be available.)

i dont really see who exactly the flyers would sell (i'll go read the article after this)

but the only 'seller' type move i could see would be trading briere or carle.. which i'm not really apposed to

i'm actually really not opposed to trading carle.. he could get a lot of value on a deadline day that's looking more and more like its going to be dead.. available dmen were in short supply and high demand to begin with, and since then, the market has only gotten better for sellers

i really think the flyers could get a 1st round pick for carle from a team that needs a puck mover.. in my eyes, he would be the best on the market

I agree w/ possibly moving Carle. If they're gonna let him walk any ways then it makes sense.

i think unless the flyers move another salary they're going to have a hard time getting suter in the offseason

carle coming off (+4)
cap going up (+2)
jvr increase (-3)
schenn increase (-1.5)*
we'll say jags get's about the same, hell maybe 1 mil less just to be optimistic (+1)

*i'm guessing that schenn wont be able to be stashed in the minors for a game or 2 to get that cap relief like they did this year

so you get 2.5 mil there.. with all the hits counting in the offseason, +7 mil for suter, its going to be very tight.. and it's all moot if the 10% and LTIR don't line up

plus, that really doesn't make the team that much better to me.. ya suter is better than carle, but you'd have very little room, and therefore basically the same 5th and 6th guys

they need to move a forward that makes a chunk of change if they're going after suter.. he's going to get at least 7.. i bet he gets something like 7 years 50 mil

Nobody on the Flyers board is saying the Flyers are getting Nash?? I must admit I'm surprised.

lol

why? if there's anything the flyers dont need, its another forward.. and at 7.8 mil the flyers really cant afford him unless the bjs plan on taking briere in return

i'd offer briere, jvr, and a first.. but no more.. i dont think CBJ would go for that.. atleast, if i were CBJ i wouldn't go for it, they'll have much better offers i would think

I know they don't need him. I just thought at least one Flyers fan would say lets go get him anyway.

Nobody on the Flyers board is saying the Flyers are getting Nash?? I must admit I'm surprised.

I did start a thread question what peoepl thought Howson and Homer were discussing, since I assumed the only player the Flyers could have interest in was Nash off CBJ(as they defenses does not impress me). I think if any trade was discussed with CBJ it would be part of a 3 way deal involving TOR. Now whether Nash would stay here or the actual specifics of a trade of that magnitude have me at a loss. Especially considering that it would most likely cause a major shake up for any team with only a few weeks before the playoffs.

I posted this scenario in the other thread and will do so here just to illustrate what I think a trade like that could look like if it were in the process of being done...

CBJ gets Bryz/Bob(hoping it would be Bryz since they have problems keeping players and he's signed forever, plus it would make the money work), Kadri, Colborne & Flyer's 1st

TOR get's Nash, Carle, CBJ's 2nd & Philly 2nd

Philly gets Schenn, Franson, Mason/Sanford & TOR 1st

This is just a rough guess and probably a bit lop-sided, but it does give each team something the need/want now.

IF Nash were to land in philly Briere would have to go out in the other direction, it's the only way the money can really work. How about Briere, Bryz Carle & a 2nd for Nash, Sanford & a 1st? ;)

so the flyers give up bryz, carle, a 1st and 2nd to get schenn franson, sanford and a 1st

i dont like it..

bryz >>> sanford

carle < schenn (just different style, though schenn has more potential and is signed for next year, i guess i'll give schenn a slight edge here)

1st = 1st (basically)

2nd > franson

IMO

honestly though i think thats just too big of a trade.. if all those parts get moved it will be in smaller chunks

I think the Blue Jackets will get a goalie if they trade Carter.

So my proposal would be something like this:

To Philly Nash

To CBJ Briere, Bourdon 1st round pick.

Someone said it before, no way DB waives NMC for there:nono:

haha if they move kane they'll be looking for a better goalie than bob

Well, fuck them then. Bob is probably better than either of their goalies...lol Especially if given a starting role...
