Right we did a chat about that, which players are playing now that are too young to make this list but have a shot at being one of the new 25?

Gonna say Embiid, Ja Morant, Luka, Jokic, maybe Edwards

For their shot to be in the next 25 to be eliminated because of anticipation of new young guys being prematurely added in 2047 makes Wallace, even if he were Top 100 established be in the opposite of a sweet spot. If it were make it if you are already there but get kicked out next round, he’d have a better chance. He’ll always be outside.

This is where you lose me. Like you just continue to look at offense only. Rodman was the best rebounder of all time and also one of the best defenders of all time. Those 2 alone make him every bit a top 75 player of all time.

Does anyone on this site count defense at all? :L or is it just all about scoring this game of b-ball?

And Lillard over AI is laughable.

I said I would take Lillard on my team over AI because he is a better teammate.

Didn’t say AI shouldn’t be top 75. He should be.

And while defense is very important, how can you even make the case that a player like Rodman who barely did anything offensively is better than a DPOY caliber player who also scores 24 points a game over his career?

Doesn’t make sense.

2 way players are better than 1 way players. And AD is a great defender also when he is healthy.

Rodman averaged 7.3 points per game for his career. 8.8 during his time in Detroit.
Which ended at 31 years old.

Draymond is at 8.7 right now. He’s 31.

But…

Draymond is way more involved offensively as a ball handler/facilitator.

Can’t just look at points.

Both are elite defenders. Draymond is a valuable offensive player also. Rodman wasn’t.

Don’t ignore Rodman’s antics either. Phil Jackson was the only coach who was able to get Rodman to be a productive teammate after he left Detroit. And that was essentially because Phil left him alone to do what he wanted as long as he showed up to play.

Very few coaches would have cut Rodman as much slack as Phil did.

I disagree. Rodman was a great rebounder and defender because he did virtually nothing else. Offense is pretty big part of the game since basketball is a game where players have to play both. If not for a few offensive rebounds, there was never a reason for Rodman to cross half court. His team was going to be playing 4 against 5 on that end of the floor regardless.

Maaaaybe he could be squeezed into the to 100, but not top 75.

If one on one was the entire game of b-ball sure. But it’s not is it. No one else did what Rodman did in the history of b-ball. Top 75-100 whatever but he was the best at his craft.. both of them

Lol. Because b-ball is a team game. It’s not playing 1 on 1. Or at least it wasn’t back in the day. Today yeah it’s a lot of ISO

Dont mind SJ. He likes to stop by occasionally and let everyone know that he thinks its still the 90s. Sometimes he has to make shit up to do it.

Who else did it? Guarded 1-5 at the level of Rodman?

We are waiting

Then tell who else guarded 1-5 and who else did it at the level of Rodman?

No one, including Rodman. No one has defended 1-5 on any kind of a consistent basis. But there are a few that could and have done it for short periods of time.

Rodman guarded Magic, Jordan, Scottie, Bird, Mailman and Shaq. That at would be 1-5

Can Anyone else say that?

And blocked Kareem twice in the same possession in the 1988 finals. Lol

Pay no attention to the facts ??

lol

Your "it's still the 90's" schtick is usually better than this.

Yeah, a team that had elite, DPOY defenders like MJ and Pippen and has other good to very good defenders is going to use 1 guy to cover 5 positions for extended periods of time.

Go away and come back when you have something smarter to post.

Yet Rodman had two of the best perimeter defenders to play the game. TEAM defense.

Yes it’s a team game. B-ball

That’s deep man.

So he wasn’t an elite defender?
