In 20 years, there will be very few people who remember Vince Lombardi. Even watching the old films will be too much for the younger folks to endure.

In 60 years, there will still be people that remember the NE Patriots, Bill Belichick and Tom Brady. "tedman12" will be dead and so will his crying and bitching and moaning.

I can't stand Don Shula......I dislike the guy so much I wouldn't use toilet paper with his photo on it.

He really was a great coach but he's a good example of a coach hanging on too long as well.

As far as this list goes.

1) Bellichek
2) Lombardi
3) Walsh
4) Shula
5) Landry

If we really want to go old school. I'd put Paul Brown ahead of Shula at #4

Belichick grew up watching film with his Dad. He's a freak.

Well for the SB era I would say;

1. Don Shula......The only perfect season and SB win
2. Bill Walsh.......The master of the west coast O
3. Tom Landry....The epitome of class and winning
4. Vince Lombardi...For first 2 SB wins
5. Chuck Noll.....and the Steel Curtain D

Just a shoutout for Joe Gibbs here. I'm not sure where I'd rank him, but winning SBs with 3 different sets of skill players should be worth something.
He gets a participation trophy.

Bill Walsh and then any number of guys could fill the other 4 spots; it doesn't matter.

Agreed on Noll. He doesn't get the credit I believe he deserves.

Probably because most fans are too young to remember him and in those days, Coaches were not as exploited by the sports media as they are today.

I think also because he's not know for being innovative like Wash with the WC offense. Or Landry with the Flex Defense. Noll was just a solid football man and a great leader.

He constructed one of greatest D's of all time and a balanced O was very effective then and still is today....
Led them to 2 back to back SB wins in a 6 year span, Lombardi only went back to back 1 time and he has the SB trophy named after him.
4 SB's in 6 years back when they played without replay and all the restrictive rules like today, is pretty phenomenal IMO...

He had 4 or 5 HoFers on that defense. Joe Green, Jack Lambert, Mel Blount, and I think there were a couple more.
