Bonds vs Ruth? Bonds. Bonds is a distant second to Ruth. Ruth was a great pitcher, an average base runner, and his power was so great that he once hit more Homers than the other 15 teams.

I guess this is a no-brainer. Bonds played in an era of incredible athletes, but he was the smartest hitter of his time. He played in a time where a 4.50 ERA was considered good, and walks and homeruns were plentiful. And he did both of those things better than anyone. You hear people in little league yelling "make him pitch to you". Bonds actually did that. And some of those games he would only have a couple pitches to hit all game, and he would still hit (at least) one of them out of the park.
