Not sure about Zimmer at #10 but i suppose half the head coaches in the league are relatively young/new so he didn't want to put them up too high since we really don't know how they're going to do in the long run.

It is funny though, that the Raiders are paying $100 mill to a guy not even in the top 10 (Gruden wouldn't be in my personal top 10 either)

Ranking top 10 coaches in NFL: Mike Zimmer remains underappreciated, Sean McVay suddenly underrated
Just not a lot of difference-maker HC's in the NFL. Quite a few coaches could be fired and replaced with a random coordinator and have minimal impact either way.

After Tomlin (ranked 7th) it's a big "meh" for me.

Even though I like Pete Carrol and he has been great for the Hawks, I really can't argue with the reasoning for him being in the 7-10 range. I don't think he's a top 5 coach. With a lesser QB, he might be just average. Like you say, it's subjective though.

McVay continues to be outrageously overrated and Doug Pederson underrated.

What exactly is the argument for McVay over Pederson? He's 0-2 vs Pederson and is less accomplished in relatively the same period of time.

To be honest for me, it's
1. Belichick
2.Reid
3.Harbaugh
4.Payton
then you can throw the next 7 or 8 in a hat and pick at random. The article makes plenty of valid arguments but some of those guys with only 3 or 4 years on their resume just don't have enough time in to be totally accurate. Frank Reich could jump into that mix yet. And again, Carroll is not better than Reid or Harbaugh guys. He's right in that Mike Tomlin range.

I also think vrabel is turning into a really good coach. It will be interesting to see how his career plays out

Good point.

They're about the same for me. I mainly have McVay over Pederson because of age. The amount of success he's been having at just 34 is remarkable.

I disagree. Tons of BCS wins. A couple of national championships + a Super Bowl win. Another plus is the longevity with both jobs. Almost a decade with the Trojans and over a decade with the Seahawks. He wins alot more than he loses during the stretch. He's the cream of the crop.

In a era of Pass Heavy, he's still with a old school PA Run Heavy approach. Pretty bold. Having a player like Derrick Henry makes it easy, but still.

Zimmer is overrated in my opinion and doesn't deserve to be in the top 10.

Zimmer is good. 6 years as HC, 4 different QBs, only 1 losing season (7-9) and he has made the playoffs with 3 different QBs.
