Shoot I must be in the minority, Hank Sr is obviously number one to me. And most of the ones listed by you guys are just "watered down rock 'n' roll", just ask Buck Owens, who would also be on my list.

If we're going by historically significant, Hank Sr is by far number 1. Jimmie Rogers and Bob Wills came first, but Luke the Drifter kick started it. But as far as music goes, he's number 11 and Buck Owens is in the 11-15 range. IMO Buck Owens is the best entertainer of all time, and like Hank Sr, I do love his music, but the other guys I listed I just like better.

I'm more into the outlaw sound.

Beiber sells a lot of records too, but he wouldn't be in my top 10 list for pop/rock.
I don't like Bieber either. So what does he have to do with country music?

Lmao........I always thought KC was was on the opposite side.

And Toby kicks ass.....His older stuff anyways.

I liked Toby's early 90's stuff, but I got a bit soured on with the whole Dixie Chicks thing. I didn't agree with what they said, but they shouldn't have been exiled from Nashville because of their beliefs.

I know that but money talks.

It does, and now you have to go to Texas to find real Country music instead of Nashville or search the internet and find guys like Sturgill Simpson.

I agree, I live in Denton and there are great country bands in northern Texas.

I'd like to get out there and see the local talent. Texas is the hub of guys like Hank 3, Kevin Fowler, Shooter Jennings and Jamey Johnson too. They're not all from Texas, but they associate more with Texas than Nashville.
