Ist things 1st, I meant why a Flyers fan? Most likely grew-up watching them with your Dad.

As for the A's, as long as the pitching holds up & actually matures a bit, they should be right back in the race. I think they need a solid, stronger closer. Balfour is more of a set-up guy. I'm interested to see what the import from Japan can do at SS too. An upgrade to the infield, both O & D was the biggest need & I think Beane may have made some great moves. I will miss Gomes & Inge as character guys, but in the end, you want the best players on the field, not in the clubhouse.

This probably won't be the last time this season that somebody almost has or does have a no no or perfect game against Houston. And if you go back to last season, Matt Cain had a perfect game agains them as well.
