Funny is a crutch SS. Who's the 3rd rd pick ?

wow, I have not heard the "funny as a crutch" line since my friend tried recite the entire alphabet in one burp when called on in geometry class to answer a question ..

As everyone sat there in shock, he made it all the way to "S" which was pretty impressive considering he had no time to prepare

I fell out of my school desk laughing, and Mr Drewes said "FUNNY AS A CRUTCH"

With all due respect to an 8th grade teacher, he was wrong - it was a lot funnier

Romo only makes sense if 3 things happen...

1) He is cut--Teams know the Cowboys are in a tough spot with Romo. They need the cap space so the ability to mark him as a post June 1st cut would be a huge benefit to a team looking like they are in cap hell. With teams knowing this it becomes a bit of a waiting game instead of teams fighting to trade for him. Good chance this step happens.

2) He is willing to take a very incentive driven contract--I've read that he is more than willing to do this to compete for a Super Bowl. The Broncos have tried to operate probably more like the Patriots than any other team in the league especially when it comes to negotiations. They have a price in mind and they tell players if you want the chance to compete for Super Bowls then you will take this deal otherwise go elsewhere. Some have come and others have walked away for more. Another decent chance on this one...I feel though other teams would offer maybe even more than double what we would and that type of money would be hard to walk away from even for a chance to win a Super Bowl.

3) The development of Lynch--Broncos have pretty much said that the plan right now is to see at the beginning of April where Lynch is at. If they love his development then I don't think they want to bring in Romo even if he is willing to come cheap. No reason to delay the possible franchise QB any longer if they think he is fully ready to go.

Other teams that might want to take a shot at Romo?
Lynch with 9ers?
Browns with first pick in a lackluster QB class?
Jets who are QB-less?
Would Houston admit Oz may not be the guy this soon?
How much better would Chiefs be with Romo than Smith?

CEH had it - the third rounder we traded so Jerry Jones could be so upset that we got Lynch and he had to settle for Dak instead. Funny how things turn out.

For the record, I'm still optimistic that Paxton will end up being a starter, and a pretty good one. Something I never thought about Osweiler.

What Romo would bring is insurmountable as far as veteran leadership. I just don't think he would hold up. He would make us an instant contender however

I'm glad somebody is seeing that reality.

Make no mistake, I hate signing aging QB's and even more when they come with a hefty price tag.

But if Romo were to stay healthy, you would have all the production you would ever need at the QB position and then some.

I think if we sign Romo the best case scenario is he starts the year and gets hurt in week 4-8 and returns in week 14-15 and is ready for the playoffs. Now that doesn't give a lot of time to build timing in the passing game, but if the Oline doesn't play any better then last year there will be no timing regardless of who is at QB.

Yeah Cd all of the above comes into play and also Romo won't go to a cold weather team so when you look at possible landing spots, weather, contender and Qb needy teams, the list is very short. SF would of been enticing if the organization wasn't in such disarray. If Elway gets a bad report card from Charley on Lynch, you just might see JJ get his boy after all ;)

People said Manning wouldn't go to a cold weather team. I think that whole thought is a bit overblown for older QB's. Really it would only effect maybe 2 games a year late in the season...maybe. Denver is known for being 50 degrees even during the winter months. Heck I live in a cold weather spot and it was 60 today.

I mean heck Romo has already said Denver is his top spot of where he wants to go so doesn't seem like Cold is a big factor in his book He seems to be more about going to a winning organization.

And yeah have to wait and see what we find out about Lynch. I'm glad though we are seeing him take steps to improve his game. Hopefully it pays off. I've always been a bit leery about the whole hiring a private coach thing ever since the Tebow years and it getting hyped up that he was vastly improved to only see the same QB come back. But that might just be Tebow where he was so far gone as a QB that he was unfixable.

I lived in Denver for 8 yrs. Shoveled snow in a t shirt many times. Don't consider Denver a " cold " state. Most football players will tell you they prefer game time temps around 30-45 degrees. On Lynch....like I said before, it's also possible he got constructive advice to seek out Charley or others. :)

Well, if Lynch is even only slightly smarter than a sea slug, he'll have a big leg up on Tebow.

Any of you want to live in Appleton Wisconsin near Green Bay? I know what cold for real is. As for all the Romo lovers out there just because he is a big name. Someone please tell me with all the weapons and o line the Cowboys had and Romo still couldn't stay healthy makes any of you think he would make it through a season with the Broncos as of now? He would have to get cut and play for cheap. So many other needs on this team before an aging QB that couldn't stay healthy in Dallas with one of the best o lines in the NFL and a legit running game with Murray. There isn't any of that in Denver to help Romo out. There is no RB like Murray, there is no TE like Witten and there is no Oline like he had in Dallas. Peace.

He did get hurt in first minute of 1st preseason game. Never got chance to play behind that line till week 17 where he guided team to a td in his only series. Nice td pass too. Nobody on here is unaware of his frailty or the fact that Denver would seriously have to upgrade the O-line to keep him alive but.....what if ? :)

It sure is. A semi good guy with a massive chip on his shoulder.

Look at his reaction was he is asked to fly his chopper in bad weather. It's brilliant.
