This is amazing. This is the worse qb class I can remember in forever. When we start talking up guys like Dak and Cardale as " I think their going to be great NFL qbs " it just goes to show you how desperate people are getting for help with the qb position right now. I will be very surprised if any of the top 4 qbs in this draft amount to anything better than a serviceable back-up at best. Matter of fact, I'll go on record right now and say this draft will rank # 1 as the worst quarterback draft in the last 20 yrs or longer. If Wentz,Goff,Lynch and Dak start more than 40 games between them in 4 yrs, I'll be a pretty surprised. :)

And I'll go on record as saying that 2 quality starters or more will come out of this draft and we will see it show up in the next 2-3 years.

Also worst draft classes ever for the QB class will be hard to beat even if they are bad. 2013 saw the likes of Geno Smith and EJ Manuel as the 1st 2 guys taken. After that is Ryan Nassib, Landry Jones, Brad Sorensen, and Sean Renfree. Not a single starter from this draft and even the top 2 guys could be looking for work very soon.

2006 beats that one by just a little but that is because Jay Cutler is actually a starting QB in the NFL. Beyond that we see the names of Vince Young, Matt Leinart, Kellen Clemens, Brodie Croyle, Tarvaris Jackson, Bruce Gradkowski. Some guys with some actual starts to their names but none of them being quality starters in the NFL.

2007 gave us Jamarcus Russell and Brady Quinn as the 1st 2 guys. The most productive passer from the entire draft class was Trent Edwards who threw for just over 6,000 yards in his career.

1996 didn't even have a 1st round pick used on a QB. Terrible group.

I could go on but you get the point. There have been some down right terrible ones in the past. To me though with QB some of it is the player but I also do think some of it is where they go. Matt Schaub is a perfect example. Back up for Atlanta for a while to then be traded to the Texans where he became a Pro Bowl QB.

The way I see John Elway - and his approach to winning - is that he places a lot of importance on

I don't think anyone said any of these QBs is "going to be great"

I like some things I have seen from Cook, Jones and Dak ... Enough to get enthused if we were to take one of 'em ....

To me there isn't that guy that I think will be a top-5 QB in the next 3 years. What I do see is some guys that can give you some quality play though. In the right system and in the right situation they can be that Jake Plummer type. We might not see a 40 touchdown type season but a 25 touchdown to say 12 interception type season would do wonders considering the defense we have right now. That is Ryan Tannehill type numbers. Again nothing to jump up for joy for but with the right team around them well worth having them on the team. Throw in knowing we would have them say for 5 years locked into a very cheap rookie contract would be huge. That would mean Von Miller's contract doesn't look as daunting to have on the books. That would mean next off season being able to re-sign Sly Williams and Brandon Marshall with very little problem.

I think Wentz has the ability to be very good. After that, I don't feel great about any of the prospects

I agree but Prescott is intriguing to me as well. He's tough and gritty. Other than those two nothing excites me

I'd take a close look at Trevone Boykin from TCU. Reminds me of Tyrod Taylor who we tried to sign last year. Looks like a fit for Kubes' offense.

Maturity issues.....he didn't play in their Bowl game for a reason.

That`s possible Cd and it very well could be two guys that are drafted in 4-7 rds. I`m saying on the surface, this qb class has more potential to fail than succeed from where I`m sitting. Looking at these guys, I see the 6-8 th qb taken in this draft having as much shot at being a quality qb as any of the top 4.Hell, even one could go undrafted and have a better nfl career in this bunch. Time will tell but apparently I`m not seeing what some of you others are that gives me any inclination that this qb class will not rank as one of the worst. I can see this class being worse or at least comparable to the 2013 with Geno,EJ, etc. I would rather not have the pressure of picking any of these guys till the 4th rd or later. Grab Kessler or ? and run with that and hope he surprises and in meantime add other pieces you need. IMO of course. Hope I`m wrong and whoever Elway takes is the next Manning!!! right.....:)

:). You need to go back at look Spirit. Not going to name any names but pretty sure I saw "Cardale Jones is going to be a great NFL QB " among others too many times earlier. I know, pretty funny, right? :)

I know you guys didn't watch a lot of Memphis, but he would have been 1st overall if not for the bowl game where the team just fell on their face. And he should be 1st overall IMHO.

I have watched a lot of Lynch tape honestly. His accuracy on intermediate throws and throws outside the hashmarks was poor. Also not asked to make a lot of reads. And has no experience under center. If we could get him round 2, maybe, but I just don't see it on tape in my eyes. That said, I don't watch nearly as much qb tape as I do dline, oline and lbs

Lynch has potential. Few things stand out. The guy has a ton of arm talent and can make every throw you could ever need. The problem is his footwork is down right terrible. Cook has some of the same problem just not as drastic. You fix the feet you fix a lot of the accuracy issues. The big thing with Lynch in my opinion though is how long does it take for him to actually understand how to read a defense. We just saw an athletic big arm QB in Osweiler not always be impressive because he was still struggling to read a defense and understand where to go with the football on a given play and he had the best to ever do it showing him. It is why I favor Cook over Lynch if we do go QB early on because I think you can fix the accuracy issues but he has a huge lead over the other guys in reading a defense, changing plays at the LOS, and having played under center.
