Barry may be more talented but I don't think we win 3 with Barry instead of 22. Emmitt got the tough yards, the short yardage one yard runs for first downs and TD's. He didn't kill drives losing 8 yards on first down dancing around.

Barry dancing around meant he had no wheres to run.....
Emmitt gaining those yards were a priduct of that line....
Do you think Emmitt behind Barrys or Walters line no real qb or wrs that he would have the same success.....I highly doubt it.

but asshats here now want to say emmitt wasn't even the best all time Dallas RB.

No I didnt just start saying Emmitt is not the best ever,Ive always stated that......

Jim Brown and Walter Payton are the two best ever......

I wonder how well Emmitt would with Bob Avellini,Gary Huff,Vince Evans,Mike Phipps and Jim McMahon as his starting qbs......
Along with the wrs of Bo Rather,Brian Baschnagel,James Scott,Ken Margerum,Steve Schubert,Rickey Watts and then Willie Gault......

Ya,those two teams are not even close.

Favorite all time RB to watch, pure beast and he could run you over or outrun you…..ran into some tremendous run D’s when he played in the late 70’s and didn’t have much talent around him…eventually he was run into the ground by the Oilers which was very sad to watch……
In his prime, no one was better

If someone tells me, Walter Payton, Jim Brown, Emmitt Smith, or Barry Sanders is the best.
I simply dont have a problem with that. I dont feel the need to tear down the other ones to make a point. Seems silly.

However this thread was never about the best.
It was a thread of Emmitt or TD.

read the thread little ditka

since Emmitt and most all cowboy fans say #22 was one of the best, your walter insecurities aren't required.

Truth got to you........

I watched Payton and aomewhat Dorsett as rookies.....not Dorsett as much as because tv back then is not like it is now.....so it would be hard for me to say which of those two were better.....

But as far saying Emmitt is the best ever is laughable....
Payton was a better blocker by miles,Payton could throw the ball( 6 tds in all, maybe 7),he could also go out and catch passes better than Smith.......
Es played with HOF players,Payton did not....
Dallas oline is considered best ever,Payton's oline couldn't crack the top 200,only the 84-87 oline had any resemblance of an oline...you know, the last few years of his career.....nothing in his prime.

And its not insecurity, its "Just the facts ma'am"

Im not tearing down any player, just throwing out what one team was compared to the other......thats not tearing down anyone.

As I stated above,I watched Emmitt and Tony as rookies, but tv back then was not the same as it is today,so Dallas was never usually on in my area......so I really cant say between them two.
They both played for some great teams.....

I don’t think there is a single football fan or player who would ever say Emmett smith was the best. I’ve talked to people about this years ago a lot and nobody had him close to the top 5 even, Guys I listed were all better and most football IQ people would agree.

FYI I wasnt talking of you specifically. I was just talking this whole thread, whether someone think of any of those 4. Seems to be the go to about the others.

As an every down overall back, I'd go with Emmitt. As a home run threat every time he got the ball, Dorsett was amazing to watch. The modern day equivalent might be Jameer Gibbs.

LOL
apparently reading comprehension escapes you.

Dorsett better than Smith?
lol

you aren't worth my time with this BS

You read my post wrong.......I didnt say that.....read the earlier post I wrote:

So to be honest, not sure how you can tell how good Emmitt actually is/was.......you do realize an offensive line is the greatest gift for an offensive......it is THEE most important part of the offense.....Ask Saquon what his line did for him in NY compared to how he did in an Eagles jersey this year.
As great as Mahomes is,his oline did him no justice at all this past SB......so does Mahomes suck by the way he played,or did his oljne fail him.....??
So before you go spouting off about "how abiot dem Cowboys' colored glasses youre wearing about Emmitt, just remember, the first thing you need to look at is who was upfront.......
But Im going to venture Emmitts line had nothing to do with it.
