Sadler won 89 games in his first five seasons, the most ever by a Nebraska coach in that time span. He was also the first Nebraska coach to win at least 17 games in each of his first three seasons.

Most successful coach we've ever had in his first 5 seasons............

And we fired him after his 6th season because it wasn't a good one......

See and this is the problem........we have too many fans who think they know all about what's going on..........but they don't........because quite frankly they have never followed Nebraska basketball.

Nebraska basketball is on a level way lower than even Kansas football is, to put things into perspective. We want to try to fix something that has never been broken......because it's never even been built.

The dadburned whole team quit on him

:L

Almeida and Diaz were out for the season.......

The game of basketball doesn't work when you have no inside presence. You can't expect a 6'6" guy to defend a 7' guy in the post.

The reason teams drained so many threes on us this year is because our 2 most important players were on the bench the entire season. The reason we beat teams like #2 Texas last year was because we had those 2 guys on the floor and healthy.

Any time you have to resort to packing your perimeter defenders down into the paint to stop dribble penetration, three point land opens up.

With all of this said, we can all thank Doc Sadler for the new facilities and new arena which is going to spark the recruiting efforts moving forward.

Whoever our next coach is, he will have a chance of being very successful as a result of Doc's efforts. And people better dadburned well fucking understand that too!

Doc had plenty chances to recruit big men inside this country, but he couldn't do it. There are a host of in state guys who were a hell of alot taller than 6' 6" that never got a call from Doc - I know one guy right now that had Wisconsin's coach show up for his games and no Doc, no Nebraska. Even with all the talent Danny Nee recruited years ago, Nee couldn't get them to play as a team. Nee's teams were the kings of turnovers. The next guy UN hires must recruit some big talent to play in that new arena. Meanwhile, Doc's teams had up and down years, can we expect anything more than that? Remember, Doc had great success at UTEP so the next guy had better have some prior success also!

IMO Doc was a hell of a BBall coach if he could have ever gotten a couple of pure shooters I believe he would of a lot more games. Anyway if I was TO I would go over to Omaha and bring over Greg McD over from Creighton he's a damn fine coach.

We hear all these talks about wins that Doc had over the first 5 years he was here...Lets look at his "marquee" wins over that time span shall we?

06-07:
#20 Creighton (H) W
#6 Kansas (H) L by 20
#6 T A&M (H) L by 11
#9 Kansas (A) L by 63
1-3 Vs. top 25 teams in 06-07. +Colorado loss, ISU loss, 1 and done in Conf Tournament. = not good enough

07-08
#16 Oregon (N) W
#3 Kansas (H) L by 21
#2 Kansas (A) L by 35
#20 KSU (A) L by 15
#24 KSU (H) W
#22 T A&M (A) W
#9 Texas (A) L by 4
#5 Kansas (N) L by 10 + 2nd Round NIT exit Vs. Ole Miss = pretty darn good

Through 2 full seasons 4-8 Vs. top 25 teams. Progress showed...

08-09
#6 Oklahoma (A) L by 11
#16 Texas (H) W
#17 Missouri (A) L by 23
#15 Kansas (A) L by 17
+ 1st round exit in Conf. Tourney. NIT Berth
Through 3 years 5-11 Vs. Top 25 Teams/2 NIT's (1-2)

Leveled off...really struggle with consistency Vs. good teams

09-10
#3 Kansas (H) L by 12
#10 KSU (H) L by 19
#1 Kansas (A) L by 11
#24 Baylor (H) L by 2
#14 Texas (A) L by 40
#7 KSU (A) L by 4
#23 TA&M (N) L by 6
Through 4 years 5-18 Vs. Top 25 Teams
Results fell off, failing to make NIT. 0 wins vs. top 25 Swept by all North Division schools.

2010-2011
#12 Missouri (A) L by 8
#3 Kansas (A) L by 3
#13 TA&M (H) W
#3 Texas (H) W
#24 Missouri (H) W
1st round exit in Conf. Tourney. NIT 1st Rd Exit (1-3 Overal record w/NU)

Through 5 years 8-20 Vs. Top 25 Teams.
Back to NIT 3 out of 5 years. Better against big boys this year...still bad overall though.

2011-2012
#11 Wisconsin (H) L by 24
#16 Mich St. (H) L by 13
#6 Ohio St. (A) L by 31
Ranked Indiana (H) W======don't know rank at time
#6 Mich St. (A) L by 28

Through 6 seasons 9-24 Vs. Top 25 teams.

Liked Doc as a person & think he can coach the game. Results driven business. 27% Winning % Vs. top 25 not cutting the mustard for Ole' TO. Can't really argue with it.

Fuck facilities, fuck never won here....I get it, I know. The guy got shafted cuz he didn't get to use these new facilities as recruiting tools yet....yada yada yada...results guys.

Clemson Tiger fan here at work was talking about this with me and he said call Larry Brown, he's a lifer and Hall of Famer all over.

Even if you're not going to hire a 72 year old coach it would be good to talk to him just the same.
