Reese also hangs onto draft picks who haven't worked out way too long. Sometimes you just need to cut bait but he seems to think they'll turn it around. I wouldn't trust him with another draft and 50 mil under the cap

Reece has been living on the coattails of one good draft that happened many years ago and the Giants winning Super Bowls despite not having as much talent as the other teams.

I don't know if another pro team will give him a shot at his age but I can see him coaching in college

No way I see a pro team hiring Coughlin. Way too old.

Those teams had plenty of talent, especially on the lines. They went 9-7 because of injuries and then got healthy at the right time. In 2011 Osi and Tuck both got healthy (Along with the RB's) at exactly the right time.

I agree unless it's a team that is a total mess and wants him to set a culture for a couple of years with the understanding he will be there no more than 2 to 3 years. Even that I highly doubt

......he should try one more time if an NFL/team wants him ......and he still wants to do it for 3-4/yrs...?

If the Steelers were to meet the Patriots in the playoffs, the Rooneys should throw whatever money Coughlin wants just to be with the team that week, and on the sidelines during the game.

If you owned a team would you want to give a 70 year old 4 years? If someone offers I believe he takes it but I don't see it happening. I hope it does, I like the guy.

I would agree with you on the 2007 team.

I disagree with you on the 2011 team. They had a great DL and a hot QB and an out of nowhere Victor Cruz.

No way they were as talented as the Niners or the Packers that year.

Im sure it will be announced as a resignation, but more of a mutual parting

The organization was always gonna let him go out on his own terms, but they let him know it was time

It was time...very good HC...much like Cowher...he was probably fortunate to work for a patient ownership group, but they were rewarded with not one but two Superbowl wins.

I think you're underestimating that team. In 2011 Eli had over 4900 yards and Hakeem Nicks over 1100 yards to go along with Cruz. Tuck and Osi missed 7 games each, Pierre Paul missed 4 but they came back strong for the playoffs. The O line was more than solid as well. Rolle was really good that year as well.

......I agree with you that he should ''call it a day'',....even Parcells, Vermeil knew when to hang it up.,....I wish Shanahan would do the same.

Great coach. Mad respect for him.

The Patriots and Belichick would seemingly be relieved... until he shows up in the AFC.

No surprise really, Coughlin probably should have been gone as coach a yr. or 2 ago.
