I lived in Fall River for a while. A was shocked at the amount of racism I saw on a daily basis.

I've seen and read some things about incidents concerning soccer players all over the world that may change your mind. Still plenty of racism out there.

I guess no one in their organization has figured out the internet yet. It's full of trolls & the lowest forms of street trash. You would think there would be protocols in place for inappropriate tweets or twitter account names, to keep you from retweeting them automatically.

I was born in South Boston - never saw or heard any racism there. I moved to Santa Ana California and went to a school where I was one of 7 whites - I never saw or heard any racism there either. It was there all right but I did not recognize it because I did not know what it looked like. I moved to a diverse area of California as a young teen. I often played with a group of black kids at recess because I did not know it was an issue. In my later teens I learned what racism was. It was kind of abstract because I did not really get it. I felt the sting of racism in the military. It was all around (then), even while I had many black friends. I have worked with virtually every nationality, race, color, national originor sexual persuasion. I have learned to appreciate the differences.
I remember sitting by a lake with a black friend in California, skipping stones and drinking a beer while watching the sunset. We were saying goodbye as I was moving from a recession in Cal to a booming economy in north Carolina. He said to me "I know why you are moving there but I hope you know why I am not" I didn't get it.
Some of you are having fun with this post. I am not. It saddens me. I don't want to know how it happened, I just want it to stop.

Racism will never go away. It's in our DNA, it part of who we are as humans. It's part of our innate survival instincts.

Maybe when we evolve from sapiens, racism will cease to exist.
