FOXBORO -- The Patriots are reportedly on the verge of trading for Titans linebacker Akeem Ayers, a second-round pick in the 2011 draft.

Jim Wyatt, longtime beat writer for the Tennessean, reported that "the only thing that would prevent is a failed physical." Ayers has only been active for two games this season and has three tackles. He measures in at 6-foot-3 and 253 pounds.

Ayers had two separate knee operations this past offseason to repair the patellar tendons in both knees.

My sources are telling me that Akeem Ayers has been traded to the Patriots and were given the choice of either a 7th round pick in 2016 or Tom Brady and have elected for the pick!

I do Hammer and the truth hurts. Tom is like a old ripped leather jacket, that you should replace but emotionally attached. Geno would have litten up Seahawks secondary like a XMas tree

Geno is on a different level though... I mean you cant really bring him in to the discussion without everyone looking terrible in comparison. The ONLY exception is maybe Bruce Gradkowski... that guy can ball OR ( old school legend ) Kyle Boller. Those 3 guys are in their own class I think..
