I've had David Carr and Matt Schaub as my team's QBs.

Both Manning and Brady are football gods.

Carry on.

Is it that the division sucks and that makes the Pats look good? Or could it be that they are that good and make the rest of the division look bad.
Has Cincy ever had a sucky season? or is it that Pittsburgh and Baltimore have just been better organizations. Cleveland?? Never sucked?
Jacksonville?
Tennessee been in the playoffs every year?
Houston?
Oakland?
KC?

C'mon man.

The Pats play two games against every team in the division. So even if the Pats were two win all of those divisional games every year (which of course they don't), a team in the division would only have to go 9-5 in their other 14 games to finish the season with a winning record.

The Patriots are the only team in the AFC East to finish a season with a winning record for the last 3 years. Do you know how many other divisions that could be said about? None.

It's not about having one or two bad teams in your division, it's that the entire division outside of New England hasn't been very good.

Okay, so then we'll settle on that answer.

Pats fans shout from the rooftops that they're a notch better, the best of our generation.

But when asked "Why haven't you won a Super Bowl in forever?" we're going to go with...

"Because it's difficult."

Check again, RobToxin is a Houston fan.
And a fan of the game as well I understand.

jealous of who Peyton ? Tom is 10-4 vs him. Pats spotted them quick 17 points cause of turnovers and down 24-0 at half. I still wasnt worrried. Pats score 31 straight points and Peyton curled into his fetal position. I am jealous of Peytons $$$$ esp with endoresments. Papa John better pizza better ingriedients

Check out the AFC West in 2010, 2011, and 2012 and tell me how good that division has been . . . Turned it around this year but don't act like the Broncos have been competing with the cream of the crop recently.

So then we have a Pats fan on record saying divisional strength is an important factor in determining great teams, right?

Why haven't you won a Super Bowl in 10 years? I've asked everyone but they don't have an answer. Can you help me understand?

C'mon Hammer, start that poll for me and I'll answer this question. Hell, nevermind, we know all know who the Brady jock sweat king is around here.

Here's your answer...ready?

David Tyree caught a pass he should have dropped and Wes Welker dropped a pass he should have caught. Two plays is the sum total of your current jock sweating.

Hey, here's a guy who completely misses the point!

No.

I just don't agree with saying this QB beat that QB. The only time they are on the field together is during the coin flip and the post game shake. Maybe.

It's a TEAM sport and no QB, Brady or otherwise, wins a game on there own. Some GREAT QB's have had to carry their respective teams but they never won it all. Marino, Elway some years, Peyton a few years, Bledsoe early on. BARRY SANDERS! There was even the opposite in Baltimore that the team carried the QB to a SB. Not Flacco, the other one.

But it's all good.

Not sure anybody from an AFC West team though has been claiming to be a part of a dynasty for the last 10 years. I agree the AFC West has been crap for at least a few years. I think we actually have the longest Super Bowl drought (making it to the game) than any other division.

Now me I respect the heck out of the Patriots organization and all that they have accomplished. No other team has been able to stay near the top like them. Part of that is coaching, part of it FO decisions, and a big part of that is having consistency at the quarterback position. What they have done is hard to do even if you are in a bad division as even the best franchises have struggled at different times.

First, I wouldn't say it's all that important (why don't you just look at the Pats record outside the division to determine how good you think they are). Hint: they've been 5-1 against non division AFC opponents in 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010.

Second, the assertion that the AFC East has been weak recently is made up. AFC East records against other AFC Divisions

2013: 14-10

2012: 13-11

2011: 13-11

2010: 15-9

And to the extent your response is "Hey wait, the Pats carried the division in a few of those years", I'd direct you back to point one.

Cmon go easy on him, he might have reasons to hate Brady. Like he found all pics and screensavers of Tom on wife's/gf computer. Or he can be Cooper, Archie or Mrs.Manning. Dont blame em when Tom has as many Lomardi's as all 3 Mannings

And to close the loop, Pats record versus the NFC

2013: 3 -1

2012: 1 - 3

2011: 3 - 1

2010: 4 - 0

Sorry there you go. 2012 is the year you probably should cherry pick.

I'm not. I'm simply showing the evidence that outside of New England, the AFC East hasn't been very good. Especially for the last 3 years.

Ok, then let me simplify it for you. The only time the Patriots have beaten the Broncos in Denver since Tom Brady took over for them, the Broncos were starting their third string qb Danny Kanell once and Tim Tebow (who never started another game at qb after that season) once.

When you guys decide to get some professional help and deal with your Peyton Manning complexes, let me know and we can try again to have a serious discussion. Until then, you're embarrassing yourselves and it's painful to witness.

It's not made up. Outside of the Patriots, the division hasn't had a winning team since the Jets in 2010. That's 3 years where 9 wins from the Patriots would have been enough to win the division. That's not true of ANY OTHER DIVISION, just the AFC East.

Two your second point, take out the Pats 5-1 record out of division and it looks like this.

2013: 9-9
2012: 8-10
2011: 8-10
2010: 10-8

Unsurprisingly, the only year they are over .500 is 2010, when the Jets finished 11-5 and were the last AFC East team to finish with a division record other than the Patriots.

Now to the Patriots credit, they've stayed up at the top of the division and haven't had a down year. But that doesn't change the fact that the rest of the division has really sucked the last 3 seasons.
