It's possible that Jarmo is also looking to move UP. Maybe he thinks this year's draft has a top 2 rather than a top 3. If the Jets feel it is really a top 3 maybe something could be worked out. I wonder what it would take for the Jets to flip picks with the Jackets? Something good and a salary dump (who can still play)? 3rd OA, 2nd rounder and David Savard for the 2nd OA?

I just have a feeling that C-Bus doesn't like Puljujarvi as much as others do. Should be a fun draft to watch.

I'd do Savard, 2nd rounder and 3OA for 2OA. I would also add try to add Rychel and ask for Dano from Winnipeg, but that's just me. But the same thing could be accomplished by giving Winnipeg Rychel and the 2nd + "futures" for Dano and ask that they pass on Laine. Which they may be prepared to do anyway.

I don't know why CBJ wouldn't like Puljujarvi. He already plays Jackets style hockey. More than Laine does.

I think it'd be Laine, seems to me like most are considering him and Matthews as a small step above the pack.

Well, maybe. Buffalo might have taken Matthews at #2 leaving Eichel for the Coyotes as well.

I think AZ would've made it happen though...in that case it's a much easier trade to complete in comparison to this year, where no one is prying the Matthews pick away from Toronto.

Yeah, we were talking about this in the Datsyuk thread, and I speculated Buffalo may try to go bonkers. They kinda have to though, because they lack the x-factor that TB and TOR have. One is a contender and only team he's known, other is home and Canada...Buffalo has to ante up to compete.
