“Rudolph, with your nose so bright…won’t you tank our season tonight”
3 reasons why I'm not too worried about Mason Rudolph being our starter:

1. We might want to tank one of these years. Since 2017, due to our record, our first draft pick has been 14th or lower (traded up to 10 in 2019) and also since 2017 we haven't won a playoff game and each playoff loss has been by 10 points or more. Since 2020, we haven't won a division title. We need better draft prospects and tanking can do that for us. So I would welcome a losing season at this point. I'd rather know we suck and won't make the playoffs then get my hopes up just to lose in the first round by double digits.
2. Last time Mason wore Black and Yellow, he went 3-0 and didn't throw an INT. Only 2 years removed from the Steelers offensive playbook so I don't have worries about him getting any worse, tbh.
3. Rookie Will Howard and Skylar Thompson are the other QBs on our roster right now and we are still "in-play" for Aaron Rodgers. I would rather cut off my left testicle, because that's the weaker of the two, before I would support starting a rookie QB who was drafted in the 6th round (he's not the next Tom Brady), OR starting signing an aging, not-what-he-used-to-be veteran QB for $10 million+ for 1 year like Aaron Rodgers, UNLESS, see number 1, we are tanking.

tl;dr, If we are trying to be competitive, given our options, Mason Rudolph is the best bet. If we are tanking, let's go get Aaron Rodgers! We got rid of a huge attitude in the locker room in George Pickens, let's not add in the drama of a diva with a BIGGER attitude problem in Aaron Rodgers.

Am I reading too far into this? Or is this a laughable level of pettiness that Ben is displaying towards Mason?

Years after his retirement he is trying to make sure Will Howard takes Mason's job?

Drafted a QB when they should have been getting me a weapon or protection?

He's on the record on that one saying that he was rooting against Kenny until he got to know him. Which I thought was a really honest answer.
Huge difference is Pickett wasn't around when Ben was still in the league. I feel there was a little animosity towards Mason but come on Ben you had 45 million reasons in 2019 why Mason didn't matter.

Still seems like he's got a grudge against Mason. Because even after rooting against Kenny it didn't sound like he went out of his way to help Kenny like he is doing now with Howard.

Mason is obviously the starter until proven otherwise. Why not offer to help him? Too proud to cross the line he drew in the sand back in 2018?

Whether its intentional or not, he's slighting the man.

Just my 2cents though :noidea:

Working our way towards a 5 TE package. It'll be unstoppable.

See it now Arthur Smiths name will be linked to this also. :L

Jonnu might be able to come cheaply, pick-wise, but Pitts sure won't.

I would hope they keep their powder dry for the upcoming draft. But I'm prepared to be disappointed.
